No—players should not expect to join the same Far Cry 5 co-op session from Xbox and PC. Ubisoft’s published platform listings treat the Xbox and PC editions separately and do not advertise Xbox-to-PC co-op. The official pages reviewed do not state this as an explicit “no crossplay” rule, so this answer reflects what Ubisoft lists rather than a direct quotation.
What Far Cry 5 co-op supports
Far Cry 5 has campaign co-op. The official Xbox listing describes it as online co-op for two players and lists Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Cloud Gaming under “Play with.” It does not list PC as a supported Xbox play option. Xbox’s Far Cry 5 listing

Ubisoft lists PC and Xbox among the game’s platforms, but that does not establish that players on those versions can share a co-op session. Its Far Cry 5 store page labels the game co-op and multiplayer while presenting PC and Xbox as separate platform versions. Ubisoft’s launch announcement also lists PC and Xbox One as platforms and describes campaign co-op without saying the platforms share sessions.
Xbox generations are not the same as Xbox-to-PC crossplay
The Xbox listing includes Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in its supported “Play with” platforms, as well as Xbox Cloud Gaming. That is the Xbox platform-family information shown on the listing; it is not evidence that the PC edition can join an Xbox session.

Campaign progress works differently for co-op guests
Ubisoft Help says campaign story progress is saved only for the host. Guests keep several forms of progress and collected items:
- Challenge progress
- In-game currency, inventory items other than Stash Keys, and Perk Points
- Purchased items, except items unlocked with Resistance Points progress
- Unlocked Perks and Silver Bars
For DLC co-op, Ubisoft says progress is saved only for the host. See Ubisoft Help’s co-op progression details.

Will another copy or account setup enable crossplay?
The official pages reviewed do not establish a workaround through Ubisoft Connect, a Ubisoft account, Steam, PC Game Pass, or buying another copy. Ubisoft’s store says PC digital play requires a Ubisoft account and the Ubisoft Connect application, but that requirement does not indicate Xbox-to-PC compatibility. Buying the Xbox edition likewise does not change the platform compatibility information.
