Minecraft’s official platform comparison marks split-screen as available only on consoles. You can still play Bedrock with other people from a PC, but each player needs a separate device for LAN or online multiplayer.
Does Minecraft for Windows have split-screen?
No. The official Minecraft platform comparison says that only console versions of Bedrock support local split-screen. Its feature table describes split-screen as console-only and sets a maximum of four players on one screen. That four-player limit applies to supported console play, not Windows.
Connecting a second controller, using a larger monitor, or changing a Windows setting does not enable native Bedrock split-screen on PC. Split-screen, LAN multiplayer, and online cross-play are different features.
How can you play together while keeping the PC?
Use a separate device for each player. Bedrock players can meet through a local network or online multiplayer; LAN play does not put multiple players on the same PC screen.

Set up a LAN world
- Make sure every player is using the latest Minecraft version and a device capable of LAN play. Connect the devices to the same network.
- On the host PC, open the world and go to its Multiplayer tab. Turn on “Multiplayer game” and “Visible to LAN Players,” then start the world.
- On each joining device, open the Worlds tab and select the world marked as a LAN game.
If the host’s Minecraft friends are online, Bedrock may also offer a direct online-joining option. Either way, players join from separate devices; it is not split-screen.
Check editions before troubleshooting
Players need compatible editions to join. Bedrock players join Bedrock worlds, servers, Realms, or LAN games; Java players join Java Edition hosted games. Minecraft’s official edition guidance explains this separation. Bedrock cross-play across supported devices does not add split-screen to Windows.

What if you need one shared screen?
Use a supported console version of Minecraft Bedrock. Minecraft lists local split-screen as console-only, with up to four players able to play on the screen at the same time. The official platform comparison covers supported platforms and features.
The console setup requires a controller for each local player. Requirements differ by platform: for example, the Switch help entry specifies docked play on a TV or monitor, while PlayStation and Xbox may have their own online multiplayer subscription conditions. Those conditions can also depend on the account, world settings, and whether players are using local or online multiplayer, so check the current instructions for the console and mode you plan to use. Moving to a console is a separate way to get couch co-op; it does not activate split-screen in your existing Windows game. A controller is required for console local players, but adding one to a PC does not change the Windows feature support.

Does Bedrock cross-play mean PC split-screen works?
No. Cross-play lets players on supported Bedrock platforms join multiplayer together, but it does not turn a Windows PC into a shared-screen console. If everyone is playing from the same PC, Minecraft Bedrock does not offer an official native split-screen mode.
