Yes. Stardew Valley supports gamepad controllers on mobile, but support has known reliability problems: developer mewsubi said in November 2024 that it had become less stable with the 1.6 mobile release. Compatibility is not guaranteed for every controller, phone, or in-game screen.
What controller support means on mobile
The mobile version history documents gamepad support for most game functions and menus, along with improvements and fixes over time. That establishes that controller input is supported; it does not guarantee that a particular controller-and-device combination will work reliably.
In a November 17, 2024 forum response, Stardew Valley developer mewsubi described mobile controller support as “fairly unstable” and said it had worsened in 1.6. This is a general warning, not evidence that every current setup fails. The available sources do not verify specific controller models against specific Android or iOS devices.
Controller or touchscreen: which should you use?

What to do if your controller is troublesome
- Check that your controller is compatible with your phone or tablet; game support alone does not confirm compatibility with a specific device.
- If input is unreliable in a menu or task, switch to touchscreen controls. The mobile version offers tap-to-move and joystick-style options.
- For precision tasks, try the joystick-style touch scheme if your current control scheme is awkward.
The sources do not establish a universally compatible controller model, so treat any controller choice as conditional rather than a tested recommendation.
