You can’t play World War Z: Aftermath in split-screen: Saber Interactive says the game has no local co-op mode. The original World War Z on Nintendo Switch is a limited exception for local play, but each player uses a separate Switch console; it does not let two people share one screen.
Does World War Z: Aftermath have split-screen?
No. There is no split-screen toggle, second-player join prompt, or local co-op mode to enable in World War Z: Aftermath. Saber Interactive’s official FAQ states: “No local co-op mode exists in World War Z: Aftermath.”

That answer applies to Aftermath; Saber’s statement does not establish local-play support for that edition on any platform.
What is the Nintendo Switch exception?
Saber says the original World War Z on Nintendo Switch can be played locally with other players on their own Switches. In other words, it is local play across separate consoles, not split-screen on one Switch or one TV.

The FAQ does not specify whether each player needs a separate game copy or account, or which local connection setup is required. Check the game’s current instructions before buying or setting up a session.
Does online co-op or cross-play mean split-screen?
No. Cross-play lets players on supported platforms join online sessions; it does not add local split-screen. Saber lists cross-play for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Its FAQ lists World War Z and Aftermath on those platforms, as well as PC storefronts and Amazon Luna; it separately identifies the original game on Nintendo Switch.

Store listings also describe online features, not shared-screen play. Xbox labels the game as offering online co-op for 2–4 players and online multiplayer for 2–8 players. PlayStation’s listing describes online play and requires PS Plus for online play on that listing. Neither online player counts nor cross-play support indicates local co-op.

What should you do if you want to play together?
- For split-screen on one screen: World War Z: Aftermath does not offer it.
- For same-room local play: Saber documents the original Nintendo Switch game played on separate Switch consoles. Confirm game-copy and connection requirements, which the FAQ does not spell out.
- For online co-op: Use the online mode on a supported platform; cross-play is available among the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms Saber lists.
