1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo play a Squid Game island in Fortnite, open Play, scroll to the Search bar, and enter an island name or code. You can also search by creator code or custom key. If you don’t have one, search Discover for “Squid Game” and choose from the islands currently available. These are creator-made experiences, so a code or result may change or disappear.
Find and join a Squid Game island
- Launch Fortnite and select Play in the upper-left area.
- Scroll down until the Search bar appears.
- Enter an island name or island code. Epic also supports a creator code or custom key in the same search bar. See Epic’s instructions for finding and playing a Creative island.
- If you don’t have a specific island or code, search for “Squid Game” and review the current results in Discover.
- Select an island’s result to view its details, then launch it if it’s available.
Epic says Squid Game islands are searchable like other Fortnite islands and are tagged during publishing. The results can vary; Epic’s player-search instructions do not identify a permanent code or guarantee that any particular creator island will remain published. Check the title, creator, activities, player-count information if shown, and availability in Fortnite before joining. Epic’s island-search help explains the search options, while Epic’s Squid Game island announcement describes the themed publishing and discovery process.
What “Squid Game in Fortnite” means
It means creator-made Fortnite island experiences inspired by Squid Game, not one single mode with a universal code. Epic provides themed creation tools, including devices, templates, props, galleries, widgets, audio, characters, and NPCs. A creator decides which activities and mechanics to include, so islands bearing the theme can differ from one another.
Epic’s creation documentation covers starter islands and templates, including minigames and social deduction. Some templates, such as Minigames Mastery and Social Deduction, are for Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN); players don’t need UEFN to search for or play an existing island. Creators can also use Squid Game Flat Grid or XL Flat Grid starter islands in Creative. See Epic’s Squid Game in Fortnite documentation and its guide to Squid Game templates.

Don’t confuse playing an island with publishing one
Joining an existing island is a player search-and-launch task. Publishing a Squid Game island is a separate creator process: Epic says publishers must join the Fortnite Developer Program and accept additional terms in Creator Portal. Its current documentation states that creators share 15% of engagement payout for those islands with Netflix. These are publishing conditions, not a player fee or a requirement to enter an island. Details are in Epic’s creator documentation.
Epic and Netflix also enforce rules for use of the Squid Game brand. Epic says violating islands may be removed, and creators may not claim or imply affiliation with or endorsement by Netflix or Squid Game. A themed island appearing in Fortnite should therefore be assessed as an individual creator experience, not assumed to be a standalone official game mode. See Epic’s announcement and brand guidance.
