Roblox discontinued support for its last-online timestamp endpoint on November 15, 2024. You may be able to see whether someone is online now, but that is a separate, privacy-controlled signal.
What you can see on a Roblox profile today
Open the person’s profile or look for them in your Friends list. If their settings allow your account to see their online status, Roblox may show that they are online. If they are online, their current experience may also be visible—but that is controlled by a separate setting.
Roblox says anyone outside the audience selected by the account owner will see that user as offline on their profile or in the Friends list. So an offline indicator does not prove that the person is not using Roblox; it may mean their status is hidden from you. Neither an online nor an offline indicator tells you when they were last online.
How to check your own online-status visibility
- Open Settings. On desktop, select the gear icon at the top right. On mobile, tap More at the bottom right, then Settings.
- Go to Privacy & content restrictions → Visibility & private servers → Visibility → Online Status.
- Review the audience you have selected. Available options depend on age and region and may include friends, trusted friends, followers, users you follow, no one, or everyone.
Roblox has a separate Show current experience control for deciding who can see which experience you are playing. Online status and current experience are distinct visibility signals.

Why Roblox no longer shows an exact last-online time
In an announcement posted October 28, 2024, Roblox said it would deprecate the last-online endpoint on November 15, 2024, and would no longer support it. The endpoint had provided a timestamp for when a user was last online. Roblox described the changes as strengthening user privacy. You can read the Roblox announcement about the deprecated endpoint.
Roblox’s current Online Status and Visibility support article explains current online-status and experience-visibility controls, not a way to look up a user’s exact historical last-online time.

Does the Roblox online-friends API reveal last-online times?
No. Roblox Creator Hub documents GetFriendsOnlineAsync for retrieving online connections and marks the older GetFriendsOnline method as deprecated. That developer documentation concerns online friends; it does not restore the discontinued historical timestamp endpoint. See the Roblox Creator Hub Player documentation.
Can an extension or game show when someone was last online?
A third-party extension or Roblox experience might claim to show “last known” activity by recording observations, using older collected information, or relying on status visible to its operator. Those claims are not equivalent to Roblox providing an exact current historical timestamp. Roblox’s official documentation does not establish a third-party method that reliably recovers an exact last-online time for any user.
