This is console sharing, not a family plan that gives each person Plus on a separate console. On PS5, enable Console Sharing and Offline Play; on PS4, activate the console as the subscriber’s Primary PlayStation 4.
Which PlayStation Plus benefits can family members share?
On the subscriber’s enabled PS5 or primary PS4, other users of that console can access certain benefits. PlayStation Support describes the arrangement as sharing selected benefits on one PS5 and one PS4. PlayStation’s benefit-sharing rules list these eligible benefits:

- Online multiplayer, subject to parental controls.
- Downloaded games purchased with a PlayStation Plus discount.
- Downloaded Monthly Plus games claimed by the subscriber.
- PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classics Catalog games, depending on the membership plan.
The Plus membership must remain active for subscription games and benefits to stay available. The subscriber should claim Monthly games on their own account; other console users access eligible games through the shared-console arrangement.
How to set up sharing on PS5
- Sign in to the PS5 with the account that has the active PlayStation Plus subscription.
- Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
- Select Enable. PlayStation’s PS5 Console Sharing and Offline Play instructions explain the setting.
An account can have this setting enabled on one PS5 at a time. To move it to another PS5, disable it on the previous console first. PlayStation also allows remote deactivation of all devices, but that option is limited to once every six months.

How to set up sharing on PS4
- Sign in to the PS4 with the subscriber’s account.
- Go to Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PlayStation 4.
- Select Activate. See PlayStation’s primary PS4 activation guide for the official steps.
Each account can have one primary PS4. The same account may have a primary PS4 and Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled on a PS5 at the same time.
What does not transfer to other users?
Sharing applies to selected benefits on the activated consoles, not every account feature. PlayStation says these benefits remain account-specific or unavailable to other users:

How child accounts are affected
A family manager can share some main benefits with child family members using the enabled PS5 or primary PS4. Children can access only content suitable for their age rating and the console’s parental-control settings. A child can also subscribe using funds from the family manager’s wallet, subject to the child’s spending limit.
Can you share Plus with family on separate consoles?
Not through this feature. PlayStation’s sharing rules apply to other users of the subscriber’s enabled PS5 and primary PS4. They do not grant a family member Plus benefits on a separate console outside that arrangement. It is a way to share selected benefits with people using those consoles, not a subscription that extends across separate households or devices.

How plan and region affect game catalogs
Catalog access depends on the membership plan, and plans and catalogs may differ by region. On PlayStation’s US overview, Extra and Premium include Game Catalog access, while Classics Catalog and cloud streaming are listed with Premium. Catalog titles can change, so check the PlayStation Plus page for your region to confirm whether a specific game or feature is included.
