Collect the egg with a piston
- Make a safe landing area. Clear or cover the exit portal so the egg cannot fall into it. A community tutorial recommends covering the portal for this method.
- Place a piston facing the egg. If the egg teleports when you interact with it, locate it and position the piston toward its current block.
- Power the piston. Use a lever or another redstone source to push the egg. The push makes it drop as a collectible item.
Collect it by making it fall
- Let the egg teleport onto a solid block if necessary.
- Remove the block directly below the block supporting the egg.
- Place a torch, slab, or another suitable partial block below the egg’s support position.
- Break the supporting block so the egg falls onto the partial block and drops as an item.
Keep the exit portal clear of the egg’s landing path. Minecraft’s official guidance names a torch or slab; a community tutorial also lists a button or pressure plate as alternatives.
