The site announced a change to its ROM offering in 2018; a 2026 law-review article later reported a revival under new ownership with download pages requiring an account. Neither establishes that a specific file works today.
What happened to EmuParadise’s ROM downloads?
In 2018, EmuParadise published “EmuParadise is Changing”, announcing a change to its ROM offering while saying its emulator database and community would remain. The announcement does not establish the availability of individual files today.
WIPO later recounted that announcement while discussing litigation by Nintendo against other ROM-site operators. That context is not evidence that Nintendo sued EmuParadise.
Does EmuParadise still offer downloads?
The site’s home page advertises downloads, and its download help page discusses troubleshooting. A 2026 article in the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal reports that EmuParadise later returned under new ownership and that ROM download pages required an account.

EmuParadise’s legal information says users are responsible for checking local law. The site describes its file hosting as archival and best-effort, and asks users to have authorization or a license. These are the site’s statements; they do not establish that a particular file is licensed or authorized.
Nintendo of America’s Intellectual Property & Piracy FAQ says, “The uploading and downloading of pirate copies of Nintendo games is illegal.” That is Nintendo’s guidance about its games, not a complete statement of the law in every country or about every ROM.
