Yes—GameStop currently lists some Pokémon TCG products for preorder, so a February 2025 report about ending preorders should not be treated as a continuing companywide ban. Availability depends on the specific product and listing; check its preorder status and delivery or pickup options before ordering.
What GameStop’s reported preorder change meant
On February 21, 2025, PokéBeach reported that an internal email to GameStop store employees said the retailer would stop accepting Pokémon TCG preorders online and in stores, with products instead sent directly to stores to encourage foot traffic. That account described a reported internal notice, not a public GameStop statement. Read the February 2025 report.

That report is historical, not a reliable description of current blanket policy. GameStop’s current Pokémon TCG listings include products marked for preorder, and its upcoming-products page describes online preorder and in-store pickup. Listings can change, and this does not establish preorder availability for every product or every store. Check GameStop’s current Pokémon TCG listings.

- Open the product page. Confirm that the exact Pokémon TCG item is marked for preorder; a general category page does not guarantee that every item is available.
- Review fulfillment options. Check whether the listing offers shipping, in-store pickup, or both, and confirm the location and availability shown before placing the order.
- Check the order or reservation with the right channel. GameStop says online preorders can be reviewed in your account’s order history. For an in-store reservation, contact the store where you placed it. Use GameStop’s current preorder help page for operational details, which can change.
If GameStop does not have the product
Pokémon lists Walmart, Target, GameStop, and reputable local hobby shops among places to find its TCG products. Pokémon Center is another source for direct releases and preorder information. Availability and any region restrictions vary, so check the relevant retailer’s current listing. Pokémon’s retailer guidance and Pokémon Center’s distribution information explain these channels. Pokémon Center says TCG cards are distributed through existing mass-market retailer partnerships; that does not mean every third-party seller is authorized.

- 3 Pokemon booster packs from various sets
Stock can be difficult to find during periods of high demand. In a notice dated May 26, 2026, Pokémon said high demand had affected availability and that it was working to print more affected products. It said new expansions would receive maximum production efforts and affected products would continue to be reprinted for participating retailers, including Pokémon Center. The notice did not quantify production or give a restock date, and it does not explain GameStop’s 2025 decision. Pokémon’s availability notice.
