Ubisoft supports cross-progression between Ubisoft Connect PC and Steam when both are linked to the same Ubisoft account; to play through Steam, you must also own the Steam version.
What transfers—and what does not
Ubisoft’s The Division 2 cross-platform content-sharing guidance names Ubisoft Connect PC and Steam among the supported platforms. It says progress and eligible content can be carried between them when the accounts are linked to the same Ubisoft account.
This is progression sharing, not a license transfer. Ubisoft’s general cross-progression guidance says you can access progression on a platform where you own the game. If you want to launch the Steam edition, you need to own it on Steam; your Ubisoft Connect purchase does not become a Steam license.
How to use your Ubisoft Connect progress on Steam
- Identify the Ubisoft account you already use. Confirm which account has your The Division 2 progress and purchases before linking anything.
- Link Steam to that same Ubisoft account. Ubisoft says you can manage links from the Account Information page under Linked accounts, or sign in to Ubisoft Connect when launching a Ubisoft game. See its account-linking instructions.
- Own the game on Steam. Once you have the Steam edition, launch it and sign in to the Ubisoft account linked in the previous step.
Ubisoft’s general cross-progression guidance was updated November 11, 2025. Platform-specific availability can vary by game, so for this title, follow the platforms and conditions in its dedicated support article.

Which content Ubisoft says carries over
Ubisoft’s title-specific list covers the following content bought through the in-game store:
- Apparel, blueprints, gear, and weapon skins
- Level 30 Boost, Premium Credits, and Skill Visuals
- Season Pass and Year Pass content
- Specialisations and the Warlords of New York expansion
The list is limited to the items Ubisoft names and the in-game-store purchase condition. It does not establish that every edition, DLC entitlement, or purchase made elsewhere will carry over.

Which platforms are covered?
Ubisoft lists cross-progression for Epic, Luna, Ubisoft Connect PC, and Steam. Its article says other consoles are not supported for this sharing. It therefore does not establish a transfer path between PlayStation or Xbox and PC.

Link Steam to the Ubisoft account that holds your existing progress. If Steam is already linked to another Ubisoft account, you may encounter an error; moving to a different platform account may require Ubisoft Support. Ubisoft also warns that unlinking can affect games and subscriptions. Platform-store purchases may become inaccessible while the account is unlinked, and access requires relinking the same platform account.
