There is no upload button for a pack you assembled yourself. Instead, install a complete pack listed in Aternos’s Software section, build a custom selection from individually listed mods, or use another host if you need full file-upload access.
Choose the Aternos option that fits your pack

How to build a custom combination of individual Java mods
This is the Aternos route for a custom setup: install mods one by one rather than uploading a preassembled pack.

- Choose a supported mod loader. In your server’s Software section, select a loader supported by Aternos, such as Forge, Fabric, NeoForge, or Quilt.
- Install the mods. Find each mod in Aternos’s mod list and install it. Add any dependencies the mod requires, making sure they are compatible with the selected loader and game version.
- Set up every player’s client. Players must install the same loader and corresponding mod versions on their computers. For a listed CurseForge or Modrinth pack, use the respective launcher to install the pack and match the server’s pack version. See Aternos’s CurseForge pack guide and Modrinth pack guide.
- Start the server and allow for a longer startup. Aternos notes that modded servers can take significantly longer to start than vanilla servers.
If a player cannot join, check that the client and server use compatible game versions, the same loader, and matching mod versions. A mismatch is a common source of connection errors.
How to suggest a modpack that is missing
Aternos accepts suggestions for packs from supported sites, but a request is not an immediate installation or an upload. Its guide lists these requirements:

- The pack must have a direct download and be available for free.
- It should have reasonable popularity and be actively developed.
- It must have an English description and server files.
Aternos says Modrinth and ATLauncher packs always include server files; for CurseForge and TechnicPack, check whether server files are available. Suggestions are reviewed manually, can take days or weeks, and may be declined. Follow the current instructions in Aternos’s suggestion guide.
Why Aternos does not offer Java modpack uploads
Aternos explains that it restricts full FTP and file-upload access both to protect its free service model and to reduce the risk of malicious uploaded code. The Aternos Help Center puts it this way: “Due to various reasons, we can’t provide you with FTP access and full file upload capabilities for plugins and mods at Aternos.” Its documented alternative for custom uploads is exaroton; check that service’s current details before choosing it.

Does this apply to Minecraft Bedrock add-ons?
No. Aternos separately documents uploading Bedrock add-ons to a server’s packs folder. That is a Bedrock add-on workflow, not a way to upload a Java Edition modpack. Aternos also says add-on support for PocketMine is limited to resource packs. See Aternos’s add-on guide and its file-upload guide.
