NVIDIA’s instructions for selecting a PhysX processor describe NVIDIA GPUs, not AGEIA’s dedicated physics processing units (PPUs). ASUS’s AGEIA-card manual documents a single-card setup but does not establish multi-card support.
Why the answer is not the same as NVIDIA GPU PhysX
“PhysX” can mean two different hardware arrangements: an original AGEIA dedicated PPU card, or an NVIDIA GPU assigned to accelerate PhysX. The configuration guidance for one does not prove compatibility for the other.
NVIDIA’s PhysX configuration help explains that when a system has more than one PhysX-capable NVIDIA GPU, the user can choose which GPU handles GPU-accelerated PhysX. It also describes CPU processing and automatic selection. This is GPU assignment guidance, not documentation for multiple AGEIA PPUs.
Likewise, NVIDIA’s multi-GPU instructions cover choosing an NVIDIA GPU for PhysX, including dedicating a GPU to PhysX rather than multi-GPU rendering. They do not describe combining AGEIA cards.

What AGEIA card documentation establishes
The ASUS AGEIA PhysX installation manual documents an AGEIA card setup and its control panel. The available manual does not say that multiple AGEIA cards can be installed and used together.
That omission is not proof that a multi-PPU setup was impossible. It means the cited documentation does not confirm it. It also does not provide a supported card count, driver version, operating system, motherboard requirements, or game compatibility for such a configuration.
SLI examples do not answer the AGEIA question
NVIDIA’s SLI and PhysX guidance distinguishes multi-GPU rendering from the selected PhysX processor: the instructions describe selecting a GPU for PhysX, not multiple processors jointly handling physics work.

- Original half height bracket matches with the low profile brackets make the Glorto GeForce GT 610 graphics card fit well with all PC tower, small form factor and HTPC(except micro form factor)
NVIDIA also discusses adding a third GeForce graphics card to a two-way SLI system to provide more display outputs in a support article updated September 29, 2021. That example concerns NVIDIA graphics cards and display support; it is not evidence that multiple AGEIA PPUs work together.

What to check before building around a second card
- Identify the hardware: establish whether the cards are AGEIA PPUs or NVIDIA GPUs. A GPU selection option in NVIDIA Control Panel applies to compatible GPUs, not automatically to AGEIA cards.
- Require period-specific compatibility evidence: look for an AGEIA or board-partner manual that explicitly describes multiple PPUs operating together. The cited ASUS manual does not do so.
- Match the software environment: multi-card support would need to be documented for the relevant drivers, operating system, motherboard, and game. The sources cited here do not specify a supported combination.
- Separate physics from graphics rendering: SLI and other multi-GPU arrangements concern NVIDIA GPU rendering and assignment; they do not establish AGEIA PPU compatibility.
Without explicit documentation for the exact AGEIA hardware and software combination, do not assume that adding a second card will provide additional physics acceleration.
