Can’t Link Ubisoft+ to Xbox? Check Your Plan and Account First

If Ubisoft+ will not link to your Xbox profile, first confirm you have Ubisoft+ Premium and that the Xbox profile is connecting to the Ubisoft account that holds the subscription. A “already linked” message usually calls for identifying the existing account—not repeatedly unlinking accounts or buying another subscription.

Check that your subscription includes Xbox access

Ubisoft+ Premium is the Ubisoft+ plan for Xbox access where the service is supported. Ubisoft+ PC Access is not a substitute: Xbox says PC Access subscribers must upgrade to Premium to play on Xbox. The catalog and eligible editions can vary by platform and region, so check the current Xbox Ubisoft+ page rather than assuming every Ubisoft+ title is available on your console.

Ubisoft+ Classics is a separate, smaller catalog. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes access to Ubisoft+ Classics, not automatically the full Ubisoft+ Premium catalog. If you already have Ultimate, check whether the specific game you want is in the Classics catalog before subscribing to Premium. Ubisoft outlines its plans and platform distinctions on its Ubisoft+ page.

Also identify who charged you. A subscription purchased through Microsoft should be checked in the Microsoft account and subscription settings; one purchased through Ubisoft should be checked in the Ubisoft account and store. Ubisoft says subscriptions bought through another platform store must be managed there. Confirm the active plan and seller before purchasing again.

Try the official Xbox linking flow

1. On Xbox, open the Ubisoft+ page or an eligible Ubisoft game page.
2. Select Join Ubisoft+.
3. Follow the sign-in and account-linking prompts. Sign in to the Ubisoft account that holds the subscription.
4. Wait for the confirmation page, then check your Xbox library for eligible games.

These are the activation steps described by Xbox. Linking may not make every Ubisoft title available: catalog, platform, region, edition and subscription entitlement still matter.

Find out which Ubisoft account is linked

Before changing any links, sign in to Ubisoft account information and inspect the linked accounts. Compare the displayed Ubisoft username and email with the account that received the Ubisoft+ purchase confirmation. Different email addresses, social sign-ins or an account created during an earlier game launch can leave a player signed into an unexpected Ubisoft identity.

If the subscription is active on one Ubisoft account but Xbox is linked to another, the entitlement may not appear on the console. Sign out of Ubisoft in the browser, then sign back in to the account that owns the subscription before retrying the Xbox flow. Do not create another Ubisoft account as a first fix; that can make it harder to identify the account already connected to your gamertag.

Fix the problem by the message or symptom

“This account is already linked”

The Xbox profile may already be connected to a Ubisoft account from an earlier game session, even if you do not remember setting it up. Check the linked-account page. If it shows an account you cannot access or do not recognize, stop attempting to unlink and relink, and contact Ubisoft account-linking support.

Ubisoft’s cross-progression guidance describes restrictions on platform links: unlinking a console account may not let you attach a different account from that same console, while relinking the original may remain possible. The exact outcome depends on the account and game, so support should advise on an inaccessible or unexpected link.

The sign-in opens the wrong Ubisoft account

Cancel the flow rather than confirming a link to the wrong identity. Identify which account has the subscription receipt, sign out of the wrong Ubisoft session, and restart the official Xbox flow using the subscription-holding account. If you cannot access that account, recover it or ask Ubisoft Support for help before moving the Xbox link.

The link completes but the subscription is not recognized

• Confirm the subscription is active and is Premium if you expect Premium Xbox access.
• Confirm you are signed in to the intended Xbox profile and the Ubisoft account that holds the subscription.
• Check which store charged you and verify the subscription there.
• Fully quit the Ubisoft game or Xbox page, restart the console, and retry while online.
• Check that the game and edition are currently available for Xbox in your region.

If you purchased through Microsoft, a billing or entitlement issue may need Microsoft account support; if the plan is managed by Ubisoft, contact Ubisoft. Do not buy a second subscription while the account and seller are still unclear.

The page loops, or the link button does nothing

First fully quit the game or page and restart the console. Verify that the console is online and signed into the intended Xbox profile. Then sign out of Ubisoft in the browser, sign in to the subscription-holding account, and retry from the Ubisoft+ page or an eligible game page. These are practical recovery steps, not a guaranteed fix; a persistent authentication or account-link error needs support.

Games are missing after a successful link

Check the current Xbox catalog, region and included edition; successful linking does not add titles outside your entitlement. Also confirm the subscription has not expired and that the Xbox library is being viewed under the linked profile. Some games may ask you to sign in to Ubisoft separately in-game. Ubisoft+ access is subscription access, not ownership: games obtained only through the subscription generally stop being playable when access ends, unless you own them separately or resubscribe. Do not unlink as a first troubleshooting step

Unlinking is not a reliable general fix for a missing subscription. Ubisoft warns that platform-link restrictions can prevent connecting a different account, and game progression, purchases or rewards may be associated with the Ubisoft account rather than the Xbox profile. Save and entitlement effects depend on the game and account history; do not assume that unlinking either deletes all progress or transfers it.

Only consider unlinking after verifying the intended Ubisoft account and understanding the consequences for affected games. For an unknown, inaccessible or mistaken link, ask Ubisoft Support to review it first. Do not delete the Ubisoft account: account closure is a separate and much more serious action that can remove access to games, progress, services, orders and external-account links, as described in Ubisoft’s privacy policy.

Check for a service problem without assuming an outage

A temporary Xbox or Ubisoft authentication issue is possible, but individual reports of failed links do not establish a platform-wide outage. Check Xbox service status and Ubisoft’s official support announcements; if other account functions work and only one profile reports “already linked,” investigate the account association first. Retry later if official status information reports an incident.

What to send Ubisoft Support

For a wrong-account, inaccessible-account or persistent linking problem, contact Ubisoft Support. Include enough information to identify the subscription and link without posting private details publicly:

• Your Xbox gamertag and console model (Xbox One, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S).
• Your Ubisoft username and the email address on the account, plus the Microsoft account email through the secure support channel.
• The subscription seller, plan, purchase confirmation, and charge date and amount.
• The exact error text and a screenshot of the linked-account page.
• The affected game titles, your country or region, and whether the Xbox profile was linked to another console or Ubisoft account before.
• Whether you have already unlinked or relinked any accounts.
