Carian Slicer is an Elden Ring sorcery that conjures a magic blade for a fast sweeping slash. It requires 14 Intelligence, uses one memory slot and costs 4 FP per cast. To obtain it, give the Royal House Scroll to Sorceress Sellen, Miriel, Pastor of Vows, or Preceptor Seluvis, then buy the spell for 1,500 runes.
What Carian Slicer does
Carian Slicer belongs to Elden Ring’s Carian sword sorceries. The in-game description reproduced by the community-maintained Elden Ring Wiki.gg reference reads: “Conjures a magic sword and delivers a swift sweeping slash. This sorcery can be used without delay after performing another action.” The reference says repeated inputs repeat the slash.

That makes Slicer a close-range spell with a quick, sweeping attack shape. The reference reports that it can be cast while jumping or running, and after dodging or attacking. It also says that only the staff portion of the casting animation can be parried. These are reference-listed mechanics, not independently tested here.

Where to find Carian Slicer
First obtain the Royal House Scroll, then give it to one of three teachers: Sorceress Sellen, Miriel, Pastor of Vows, or Preceptor Seluvis. After that, Carian Slicer appears for purchase from that teacher for 1,500 runes, according to the community-maintained spell reference.
The scroll is found in the southern part of Agheel Lake South, on a ruined structure guarded by a battlemage. The location and quest-state details come from the same community reference; consult an up-to-date game guide if you need route-specific directions for your current progression.

If the teacher dies
The reference says the Twin Maiden Husks can sell the spell if the teacher dies after receiving the scroll, provided the relevant Bell Bearing is given to them. It also warns that if all three teachers die before any of them receives the Royal House Scroll, Carian Slicer is unavailable to that character until a new Journey. These outcomes depend on quest state, so avoid killing a teacher before handing over the scroll.
How it compares with other Carian sword sorceries
The spell listings describe three different attack shapes. Their listed costs and requirements can help narrow the choice, but they do not establish which deals more damage in a particular build.

Bandai Namco Europe’s official version 1.07 notes list changes to several sorceries, including Carian Piercer, but do not name Carian Slicer in the cited excerpt. The Carian Slicer community page reports a PvP adjustment in version 1.08, including a multiplier change, but that specific history is not confirmed by the official note cited here. Treat it as community-reported rather than settled official patch history.
