Controller crafting and cooking
The update fixed several problems when using a controller for cooking or crafting: ingredient costs could be wrong, ingredient indicators could be missing, and chests could have locking or unlocking problems during crafting.
French-language heart-scene crash
The notes say the update fixed a crash that occurred while playing in French during Dr. Andrew’s ninth heart scene. They do not provide a reproduction sequence or an alternate workaround.

Animal resources, event mail, and building upgrades
- Animal resources: Butchering too many animals at once could prevent animal resources from being collected the following day; the update says this was fixed.
- Cutscene invitations: NPC invitation mail for a cutscene could arrive in winter, when that scene was unavailable; this was fixed.
- Building upgrades: Placing a Shed, Coop, or Barn upgrade could remove multiple upgrades from the player’s inventory; this was fixed.
How to check whether an old bug applies to your game
The patch notes describe resolved issues, not verified problems still present in the current version. If you encounter a similar symptom, use the conditions in the notes to narrow down what to report. This is practical triage based on the documented cases, not an official workaround.
- Check your platform and installed version. Cattle Country is listed on Steam, and the publisher’s console release notice links PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo storefronts. Check the update listing for your own platform rather than assuming its build matches another platform’s.
- Note your input method and language. The documented crafting issues involved controller use, while the crash was tied to French language settings and a specific heart scene.
- Record the relevant in-game conditions. For a similar animal-resource issue, note how many animals were butchered and when resources failed to appear. For invitation mail or building upgrades, note the season or the exact upgrade placement involved.
- Include save timing. Say whether the save began before or after the update that lists the fix. The official notes do not establish that every platform received the update simultaneously.
The reviewed official materials do not give verified save-repair steps, platform-specific workarounds, or a support-ticket procedure for remaining issues. Avoid treating an old patch-note entry as proof of a current defect or applying unverified file edits.

Earlier Cattle Country fixes are historical, too
The Steam Community announcement archive records earlier fixes, including a June 2025 patch. That patch addressed a random crash during a stickup, a soft lock in Tom’s ninth heart scene if entered while riding a horse, and new-game state carrying over after returning to the main menu, including spouse and Jeb’s house state. It also listed fixes involving quests, scarecrow range, newborn-animal quest counting, town-hall donation displays, flooring, the shipping box, and map controls.
Those notes document what the patch addressed at that time; they do not show that the same issues remain in current builds. The archive contains additional historical fixes beyond this selection.

What the update adds besides fixes
Bandits & Bounties adds a bounty loop alongside its bug fixes. Players accept Wanted Posters at the Sheriff’s building, track bandits in the wilderness, and return to Sheriff Tom for a reward. Bandit camps can appear during exploration, while robberies and shootouts may occur at the General Store, Butcher, Carpenter, and Bank.
Other additions include a Toolbelt for crafting away from a crafting table; an Extra Large Bag that expands inventory to four rows; an Animal Trap; a Rock Tumbler that produces materials and occasionally rare gems; and a Tailoring Table for making clothes and hats. A boat-accessible fishing spot near the docks is available on Tuesdays and Saturdays and offers fish from every season. The notes also mention additional NPC dialogue and inventory counts that display beyond 9,999.

Console availability and patch status
Playtonic announced Bandits & Bounties as available on console on 5 October 2026 and linked PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo storefronts. That announcement confirms the listed console availability, but it does not establish identical version numbers or synchronized update timing across those platforms. Check the relevant store or platform update listing for the build installed on your system.
