There is no official CD PROJEKT RED ranking, and its current catalog page is not a complete historical release list. This ranking is an editorial comparison of the studio’s best-known released games: The Witcher series, Cyberpunk 2077 and GWENT. It weighs story and characters, gameplay, world and quest design, the condition of the version being judged, and lasting impact—while recognizing that a card game and an open-world RPG are built for different experiences.

What counts as a CD PROJEKT RED game?

CD PROJEKT RED’s official catalog highlights The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077 and GWENT, and describes the studio’s focus as story-driven role-playing games. It also makes clear that these titles do not all share a format: Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world RPG, while GWENT is a strategic collectible card game. The studio’s games page presents these franchises, but does not establish a complete historical list of every game the studio developed or published.

Accordingly, “every” here means the major released games highlighted in that catalog, not every historical release, mobile title, spin-off, game published rather than developed by the studio, or expansion. That boundary matters: the available official material does not settle those categories into a definitive bibliography. The ranking below is an argued editorial order, not an official studio list.

The CD PROJEKT RED games, ranked

  1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The strongest overall balance of the studio’s defining strengths: a substantial fantasy world, memorable characters, and quests that often make exploration and narrative feel connected. Its position rests on the breadth and coherence of the role-playing experience, rather than on scale alone. The edition matters when assessing its technical condition, so this ranking does not treat every release or platform version as identical.

  2. Cyberpunk 2077

A distinct open-world RPG built around a dense science-fiction setting and a character-driven story. It ranks just behind The Witcher 3 because its world and premise give the game a strong identity, while the comparison depends more on the particular edition and platform being played. CD PROJEKT RED’s official catalog describes it as an open-world RPG, not as a Witcher-style fantasy adventure.

  3. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

A more focused fantasy RPG whose narrative and consequential choices make it an important entry in the Witcher series. It ranks below the third game because its more contained scope gives it less room for exploration and quest variety, but its tighter structure can appeal to players who prefer a more directed adventure.

    DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake (PS5)
    • A fully modernized remake of the originals: Stunning HD-2D visuals fuse pixel art with 3D graphics, along with an improved and modernized UI, and other quality of life improvements make these the best versions of the games yet.
    • Traditional DRAGON QUEST style battles: A refined take on the classic turn-based battle system, featuring new animations, additional improvements such as an adjustable battle speed, an auto-battle setting, and more.
    • Two legendary adventures, in one package: Experience the epic origins of the DRAGON QUEST series with both DRAGON QUEST I and DRAGON QUEST II. Two games beautifully remade and bundled together in one definitive offering.
    • Experience a timeless musical score: An immersive, authentic, and diverse musical composition that captures the timeless essence and magic of the DRAGON QUEST universe.
  4. The Witcher

The original game establishes the series’ world and tone, making it valuable for players interested in the franchise’s beginnings. Its older design and presentation make it a less approachable starting point than the later entries. It earns its place for its role in the studio’s catalog, not because it is the smoothest version to play today.

  5. GWENT: The Witcher Card Game

GWENT belongs on the list, but it should not be judged by open-world criteria. Its appeal is strategic play with a collectible-card format rather than exploration, authored quests or a long-form RPG story. It ranks fifth in this cross-genre ordering because the other entries deliver broader narrative and world experiences; within its own format, its merits are better measured by the depth and clarity of its card-game systems.

How to read the ranking

The ordering gives the greatest weight to narrative, characters, and how well gameplay supports a game’s premise. World and quest design, technical condition, accessibility for a new player, and lasting influence also count. Those criteria make a useful shared framework, not a claim that a card game and a large role-playing game provide interchangeable experiences.

The placement of a game can shift with a player’s priorities. Someone who values strategic card play above exploration may rank GWENT higher; someone drawn to a compact story may prefer The Witcher 2. The list reflects overall craft and impact across different formats, rather than a universal measure of enjoyment.
