OverActive Media announced the championship on March 20, 2025, as a June 26–29 event at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. OverActive also called it the first competitive Call of Duty event hosted outside the United States. Read the announcement.
The venue is in Kitchener, part of Waterloo Region in Ontario. OverActive said the tournament would use a 360-degree centre stage. That was an announced production plan, not a claim about the event’s final attendance or viewership.

The championship marked a first outside the United States, according to OverActive Media, the organizer. Its location also put a major esports tournament in Waterloo Region rather than a larger city that had hosted comparable events. Speaking to CityNews on June 26, local streamer Noella Cater, known as “Ellcatz,” said the Kitchener location was easy to reach and more affordable for regional fans than the larger cities where events were normally held.

OverActive Media’s Chief Commercial Officer, Neil Duffy, told CityNews that the venue was selected because it could accommodate a tournament of this size and scale. These are the organizer’s and local participant’s explanations of the venue choice, rather than an independent venue comparison.
How could fans follow the championship?
In 2025, fans had two reported ways to experience the event: attend at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium or watch the live stream on the Call of Duty League YouTube page. Both were options for the concluded June 26–29 tournament. The cited coverage does not establish a current replay location or future event schedule.
