Alchemist is Cfx.re’s utility for converting existing GTA V Legacy assets for use with FiveM on GTA V Enhanced, and for refining older assets that need compatibility or formatting corrections. It is not a general-purpose editor for making new mods or missions. Cfx.re announced the forthcoming utility in March 2025 and introduced Alchemist on November 20, 2025, with a download through the Cfx Portal and linked documentation. Those announcements do not establish its current version or the present state of FiveM’s Enhanced rollout.
What Alchemist does
The compatibility issue arose with the free GTAV PC Upgrade: Cfx.re said custom assets used with FiveM and GTA V Legacy would not be natively compatible with GTA V Enhanced. Alchemist is intended to help move supported existing assets across that gap. In its November 2025 announcement, Cfx.re described folder-based conversion: select a folder, let the tool identify Legacy assets in it and its subfolders, and send converted files to a target directory. The tool can also copy surrounding scripts, interfaces, and configuration files without changing them. Cfx.re’s March 2025 announcement and November 2025 Alchemist announcement.

Alchemist also has a separate “Refining” function, described as updating or correcting Legacy assets for compatibility and formatting. Conversion and refinement address existing assets; the announcements do not describe a tool for authoring new models, missions, or other mods from scratch.

Where to get Alchemist and what is established about availability
Cfx.re’s November 20, 2025 announcement said Alchemist could be downloaded from the Cfx Portal and linked dedicated documentation. Its March 2025 notice had said a release date was still being finalized. These are dated announcements; they do not verify the current Alchemist version or whether FiveM’s Enhanced rollout has since changed. Start from the official announcement for the Portal and documentation links rather than relying on an unofficial download.

Who it is for—and the FiveM platform context
Cfx.re presented Alchemist for players, server owners, and asset creators dealing with existing FiveM content. Cfx.re announced in August 2023 that its team, which develops FiveM and RedM, had joined Rockstar Games; the announcement said the collaboration focused on FiveM and RedM. Cfx.re’s announcement.
Platform support needs careful qualification. Cfx.re’s support FAQ, last updated September 19, 2025, says the FiveM client is developed exclusively for PC versions of GTA V Legacy, with no console support plans; it also says the client cannot run on Linux, although FiveM servers can. That dated FAQ does not establish whether or when the client’s Enhanced support has changed. See the FiveM platform support FAQ for its stated scope.

Game entitlement and Creator Platform terms
The Creator Platform License Agreement, marked last updated January 12, 2026, says users need a valid entitlement to an authorized covered game to use Creator Services. It also sets conditions and restrictions for creator content and custom servers, and says Rockstar’s framework does not mean the company endorses individual custom servers. Review the Creator Platform License Agreement for the governing terms. Cfx.re’s December 22, 2025 notice said the revised agreement was expected to take effect January 12, 2026.
