Some changes are limited to one attempt, and age verification cannot always be undone.
How to change your birthday on Roblox
Use the account’s own settings first. Roblox does not use commands or console syntax for birthday changes.

On a computer or mobile browser
- Log in to Roblox.
- Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
- Open Settings, then Account Info.
- Click the Pencil icon next to your birthday.
- Enter the correct date and follow the prompts.

In the Roblox mobile app
- Log in and tap the Three Dots icon (…).
- Tap Settings, then Account Info.
- Tap the Pencil icon next to your birthday.
- Enter the correct date and follow the prompts.
The available prompts depend on the requested age change, your account status, and regional requirements. Roblox accounts cannot be created for children younger than five, so account setup does not offer birthday options below age five.

If your account is under 13 but you should be 13 or older
If Roblox currently treats the account as under 13, open Settings → Account Info and select the Pencil icon next to the birthday. Roblox may ask for Parental Consent or another verification step.
If the account is already treated as over 13 but the age estimate is wrong, Roblox directs you to Settings → Account Info → Continue with ID. This option requires you to be at least 13 and to submit your own government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, passport, or residency card. Details are in Roblox’s age-check guidance and ID verification instructions.
What happens during ID verification?
- Choose Continue with ID under Account Info.
- Allow camera access when prompted.
- Scan the document and scan its back if it contains a barcode.
- Capture a photo for comparison with the ID.
- Wait for the result in the original Roblox session.
Results normally appear after several minutes. If verification succeeds and the birthday on the ID differs from the Roblox birthday, Roblox changes the account birthday to the date shown on the ID. A successful check displays Verified with a checkmark beneath the birthday.

A result may take longer if the document image is blurry, the entire document is not visible, or the document comes from a country that uses non-Roman characters. Do not submit another person’s document: Roblox requires your own official ID.
If facial age estimation classified you incorrectly
Facial age estimation and ID verification are separate methods. Roblox groups facial-estimation results into ranges including 5–8, 9–12, 13–15, 16–17, 18–20, and 21+. If facial estimation places someone over 13 in an under-13 group, the user can use Continue with ID under Settings → Account Info, provided they are at least 13.
If Roblox cannot estimate the user’s age, it may require ID verification instead. In some regions, facial age estimation also requires parental approval. Roblox says it does not receive or store biometric data from facial age estimation and that facial images and video are deleted after processing. See How Roblox estimates age.

If Roblox estimated you as under 13 even though you reported 13+
Roblox provides a 48-hour grace period before the under-13 age-group update becomes final. To avoid waiting, go to Settings → Account Info and select Accept Now under Birthday.
If Roblox incorrectly age-checked the account as 18+
You can reset an incorrect 18+ age check from Settings → Account Info:
- Select Reset beneath the birthday and age group.
- Select Continue on the next screen.
This applies whether the 18+ status came from facial age estimation or ID verification. The reset is available only once per account, so use it only when the age-group result is genuinely wrong. Roblox’s birthday-change help page documents this limitation.

How a linked parent can change a child’s birthday
A parent can use Parental Controls only when the parent’s Roblox account is linked to the child’s account. In most regions, the parent account must be age-checked as 18 or older, and parental functionality is available on Roblox.com and the iOS and Android apps.
From a computer or browser
- Log in to the parent account.
- Open Settings → Parental Controls.
- Select the child’s account.
- Click the Pencil icon next to the child’s avatar.
- Select the Arrow next to the child’s birthday and edit it.
From the mobile app
- Open More at the bottom right.
- Tap Settings → Parental Controls.
- Select the child’s account.
- Tap the Pencil icon next to the child’s avatar.
- Tap the Arrow next to the birthday and edit it.
The linked parent can update a child’s birthday only once. If the birthday-edit arrow is missing, that interface does not allow the parent to change it. Parental Controls also cannot change the birthday after the child has verified their age with a government-issued ID. After facial age estimation, a linked parent can update the birthday for a user under 18, but the one-change limit still applies. Changing the birthday can correct the date stored on the account, but it does not automatically unlock every age-restricted feature. Access also depends on completing an age check, account settings, and regional availability.

Roblox currently says that all chat, Restricted Content, chat without filters with Trusted Friends, and TeamCreate collaboration in Studio require age checks. Its listed feature-access groups are Under 9, 9–12, 13–15, 16–17, and 18+. Users in the 18+ group can access Restricted games only after completing an age check. Roblox may also require users to repeat an age check to retain access to features such as Trusted Friends and expressive chat.
Limits and common mistakes
- You cannot change the age unlimited times. A linked parent gets one child-birthday change, and an age-checked status can be reset once.
- Support cannot bypass verification. Roblox says Support cannot manually verify IDs, remove existing ID verifications, or manually update the relevant account settings.
- Do not use someone else’s ID. The submitted document must belong to the user completing verification.
- Verification is not a guarantee of every feature. Account settings and regional rules still apply.
- Regional laws can change the process. Parental consent, facial estimation, and birthday-change options may vary by location.
If the Pencil icon, Continue with ID option, Reset button, or parental birthday arrow is missing, the account may not meet the relevant age, verification, linking, or regional requirements. Roblox’s menus—not third-party scripts or browser-console instructions—are the supported route.
