A dedicated encounter guide places Chromatic Bruler in Flying Waters during Act 1. Other walkthroughs describe the encounter more broadly as being on the Continent, around the route near Ancient Sanctuary and Gestral Village. Use those landmarks in relation to your progress rather than relying on an exact coordinate: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 does not provide an in-game minimap or coordinates, and area descriptions vary between guides.

It is optional. If you have just reached the area and are struggling, one walkthrough recommends finishing Act 1 and returning later. Chromatic enemies have more health and hit harder than their standard counterparts, according to the dedicated encounter reference; there is no single required level established by the guides.
How to handle Chromatic Bruler’s attacks
Parry the five-hit spin combo
Game8 describes Bruler’s spinning attack as four quick hits followed by a fifth strike after a slight pause. Parry the first four in rhythm, then wait through the pause before parrying the last hit. Do not assume the combo is over after the fourth strike: mistiming the final response can cost substantial health.

Jump the three shockwave slams
When Bruler slams its anchor three times and sends shockwaves across the party, use jump dodges to clear the waves. Game8 identifies jump counters as the counter option for this move. Keep your attention on the incoming waves rather than reacting as if the attack were another parry sequence.
Where to aim and which element to use
Aim ranged shots at the glowing head or core; Game8 identifies this as Bruler’s weak point. Elemental advice is inconsistent: the dedicated encounter page lists Lightning, Game8 recommends Ice, and DotGG lists Fire. Gamer Guides’ resistance table lists both Fire and Ice as weaknesses. These sources do not establish one universal answer, so inspect the enemy’s displayed weakness in your own game and use that information rather than committing to an element based on a guide alone.
