Guinness World Records gives the game 13 nominations because its count also includes the separately presented Players’ Voice category. At the December 11 ceremony, Expedition 33 won Game of the Year and nine awards overall.
Why do some counts say 12 nominations and others say 13?
The figures use different scopes. SEGA’s December 12, 2025 announcement reports 12 nominations across award categories. Guinness World Records records 13 total nominations, including Players’ Voice. The official Game Awards site presents Players’ Voice in a separate section from its numbered award-category list, which explains the difference.

The nomination count refers to the 2025 awards. The nominees were announced on November 17, and the ceremony took place in Los Angeles on December 11.

Its announcement also identifies a PS5 package edition released in Japan on April 24, 2025; that regional information does not establish current availability or physical-edition availability elsewhere.
