It is the update described by the original “new update” headline; later patches followed.
What Patch 1.4.0 added
Sandfall Interactive announced the update on July 30, 2025. Its official patch notes list four player-facing changes:
- Battle Retry: After a defeat, a prompt offers a quick retry of the battle. It is a post-defeat option, not an anytime restart feature. Sandfall called it “one of our most requested QoL additions”; that is the developer’s description, not a published player-demand count.
- DLSS and XeSS: The patch added frame generation and low-latency support for both technologies on compatible GPUs.
- Lumina cost display: The Pictos menu now shows the Lumina cost of each ability, helping players plan their builds.
- Dialogue autoplay: An optional autoplay feature was added for dialogue outside cutscenes.
What the graphics update means
Patch 1.4.0 named DLSS and XeSS as the supported frame-generation options, subject to GPU compatibility. The patch notes do not specify model-by-model hardware requirements, report benchmark results, or promise a particular frame-rate increase, so the actual benefit will depend on the player’s hardware and settings.
FSR was not included in this update. Sandfall said at the time, “We are still exploring support for FSR, but we need more time to work on it.” The statement describes the developer’s position in the July 30, 2025 notes; it does not establish what later updates may have added.

How Battle Retry works
When a fight ends in defeat, the new prompt lets players retry it directly rather than returning to the ordinary flow to start the encounter again. The notes do not specify every edge case or quantify how much time the prompt saves.

No. Patch 1.4.0 is the update this headline refers to, not the latest available update. Sandfall’s news archive lists later announcements, and an official Steam announcement result identified Patch v1.5.6 as live on June 30, 2026.
