Supercell’s Cards & Decks support page describes card upgrades as using Gold with cards of the same type or Wild Cards.
How to upgrade a card to Level 15
- Open the card in your Collection.
- Check its upgrade panel for the remaining card copies and Gold required to reach Level 15.
- Collect eligible copies or Wild Cards of the matching rarity, and gather the displayed Gold.
- When the requirement is met, use the upgrade control shown on the card.
The in-game panel is the best guide to your individual card’s progress. Requirements or interface details could change in a later update.

Why older guides mention Elite Wild Cards
Level 15 launched in 2023 as “Elite Level.” Under that system, the Level 14-to-15 upgrade cost 50,000 Elite Wild Cards and no Gold, according to Supercell’s June 2023 announcement. That cost is historical, not the current upgrade requirement.
Supercell’s progression update went live on November 24, 2025. It removed Elite Wild Cards, converted remaining balances to Gems, and replaced the old Level 15 cost with rarity-specific card copies plus Gold. The update also introduced Level 16, so Level 15 is no longer the maximum card level. See Supercell’s December Update 2025 and its November 2025 progression announcement for the published changes and costs.
