The 2025 Dark Elixir event is over, and no available comparison establishes one objectively best deck. For its challenge, players were pointed toward several possible archetypes—including Royal Hogs with Recruits and Fireball, Mega Knight with Miner, and 2.6 Hog cycle—but these are starting points, not proven rankings.
When was the Dark Elixir event, and is it still playable?
Supercell scheduled Dark Elixir for May 26–June 2, 2025, during the Undead March season, with the associated challenge running May 30–June 2. The announcement said the challenge ended after three losses. The event is not currently active as of October 8, 2026. Supercell’s season announcement introduced it with the line, “Dark Elixir is flooding the Arena!”

Which decks were suggested for the challenge?
Deckshop’s Dark Elixir Challenge page lists these archetypes. It does not establish that they were tested against one another or provide comparative win rates, so treat them as options to adapt rather than a ranking of the strongest decks.

These names describe archetypes, not complete eight-card deck lists. Fill out or modify a list according to your collection and the event’s available card slots; do not infer a full lineup from an archetype label.

How should you choose between the options?
Start with a reliable way to damage towers
Identify the deck’s main win condition: the card or combination you can repeatedly use to pressure a tower. Supercell’s general strategy guidance gives building-targeting cards such as Hog Rider, Royal Giant, and Golem as examples of win conditions. Supercell’s 1v1 strategy guide offers general advice, not a Dark Elixir-specific ranking.
Check defense before committing to a push
Make sure the completed deck has answers to both ground and air threats. Avoid spending so much elixir on one defense or attack that you have no response to the opponent’s next push.

Pick a cycle you can control
Choose a pace that suits how you play and leaves key answers in rotation after you commit to an attack. Supercell describes the usual elixir timeline in its support guidance, while noting that some modes and events can use different rules. Read Supercell’s elixir overview; do not assume ordinary pacing applies unchanged to this special event.
Adapt to your collection and the current game
Card levels and the Evolution, Hero, or Wild slots available to you can affect which version of an archetype is practical. The game supports up to ten saved decks per mode and lets players copy decks between modes; see Supercell’s deck-builder guidance. Also check current balance changes before reusing a 2025 suggestion: an event-era archetype is not automatically optimal in a later meta. What can—and can’t—be called the best deck?
The available sources establish that several archetypes were suggested for the challenge, but not that one had the highest win rate or was universally best. A creator’s May 30, 2025 video described an approach focused on consistency, control, and counterattacks, but its available description does not show the full deck list or substantiate a performance comparison. For a player choosing among the listed options, the sensible pick is the archetype whose win condition, defensive coverage, cycle, and card availability fit their own collection. That is a practical selection method—not evidence of a universal winner.
