SQURS’s Season 83 data describes Tower Troop use as stable compared with the prior season. These figures are selection rates, not win rates, and the sample is Top 1K players rather than the general player base. They establish a large adoption gap in that snapshot, but do not show why players chose each troop or whether a less-used option is weaker in a particular matchup.
What “best” means for Tower Troops
“Best” can mean most popular, most successful, or the best fit for a specific deck. The May 2026 data directly supports only the first meaning. It does not provide a comparative win-rate ranking, and it is not current enough to establish the October 2026 meta.

For a deck-level choice, consider the troop’s role and whether that role complements your cards and plan. The available evidence supports describing the differences below, but not scoring their performance across matchups. Any deck-fit recommendation is therefore a strategic judgment, not a measured result.
What each Tower Troop offers
Tower Princess
Tower Princess is the first Tower Troop players unlock, according to Supercell Support. She is also the clear usage leader in the cited Top 1K snapshot. That makes her the baseline for comparing adoption, but popularity alone does not establish that she is the strongest choice for every deck.

Dagger Duchess
Dagger Duchess is the second-most-used troop in the May 2026 comparison, with 4.3% usage. Supercell’s August 2025 balance update changed her hit-speed interval from 0.45 seconds to 0.5 seconds. This is a dated balance change, not a complete or current stat profile; see Supercell’s balance notes.
Royal Chef
Supercell introduced Royal Chef as the game’s first offensive Tower Troop. His distinctive mechanic levels up the player’s highest-HP troop, with eligibility and activation rules described in the December 2024 game update. The timing figures in that introduction were later changed: the August 2025 balance update increased minimum cooking time from 21 to 23 seconds and maximum cooking time from 35 to 38 seconds. Those dated figures do not establish his current timing.

Cannoneer
Cannoneer is an unlockable alternative documented by Supercell Support. In August 2025, Supercell changed his hit-speed interval from 2.4 to 2.1 seconds and his damage from 386 to 320. These are historical balance changes, not a full current stat line. His 0.5% usage in the May 2026 Top 1K snapshot makes him the least selected troop in that comparison, but does not show how he performs in any specific matchup.
What the balance history does—and does not—tell you
The August 2025 figures show that balance adjustments changed the listed attack or cooking timings for several Tower Troops. They can help explain why old descriptions may no longer match those dated values, but they cannot substitute for a present-day comparison. Supercell also published an August 2026 balance article; it does not provide comparative Tower Troop usage or win rates. The available figures therefore do not establish an October 2026 ranked-play order by strength.

How Tower Troops fit into your deck
Supercell describes Tower Troops as giving Crown Towers different ways to deal damage. They are additional support cards outside the original eight deck slots, and its support article says they can be used in modes that use your own deck. You can inspect or switch your Tower Troop at Collection → Decks → Towers.
Tower Princess is unlocked first; further Tower Troops unlock through Arena progress, and Tower Troop cards can also come from Lucky Chests. Cards can be upgraded to Level 16, but cannot exceed your King Tower Level, according to Supercell Support.
