Warzone may be checking your Activision account, not your Battle.net account. Check the masked email address or phone number, stop repeatedly requesting codes, and use the official recovery flow before unlinking anything.
Activision’s support page currently reports delays affecting some SMS challenge codes, so a missing text does not necessarily mean your account is banned or that the game installation is damaged.

What the error means
This message is an account-security challenge. It can appear when Activision requires confirmation during an account login, account-linking attempt, or change to details such as your email, password, or Activision ID. It does not automatically mean that Warzone is down, your account is suspended, or your local installation is corrupted.

First: determine which code you need
Do not assume that Battle.net is sending the code simply because you launched Warzone through Battle.net. Check the wording, sender, domain, and masked destination shown on the page.

If the Activision email never arrives
- Search every folder of the email account associated with Activision for
Activision,verification,account verification, andactivision.com. - Check spam, junk, Promotions, Updates, Social, quarantine, and automatically archived messages.
- Review blocked senders and mail rules that might delete or redirect messages.
- Add
activision.comto your approved or safe-sender list. - If several messages were requested, use only the newest valid link or code.
Activision’s documented email-verification process is:
- Open callofduty.com/verify-email.
- Sign in and confirm that the displayed email address is accessible.
- Select Send Verification Email.
- Open the message from Activision and select its verification link.
- If it does not appear, return to the page and select Resend Link.
Activision recommends waiting up to 24 hours before repeating an email-verification request. If the message still does not arrive, contact Activision Support. Do not endlessly resend messages, since repeated requests can make it harder to tell which link is current.

If the Activision SMS never arrives
- Confirm that the final digits shown by the prompt belong to your current phone number.
- Check blocked, spam, and filtered-message folders on the phone.
- Check whether your carrier blocks automated or short-code messages.
- Restart the phone or briefly toggle cellular service if appropriate.
- Avoid requesting multiple codes in rapid succession.
- Retry later through the official Activision account flow.
Activision’s current support results page reports receiving reports of delays in SMS challenge-code delivery. That is a possible explanation, not proof that every missing-code problem has the same cause. SMS timing can vary, so do not rely on an invented universal cooldown or keep generating new codes while waiting.

If the displayed number is disconnected, ported, attached to another account, or no longer yours, changing account settings may trigger another verification request. Use account recovery or official support instead.

If the prompt is actually two-factor authentication
A normal account-verification email or SMS is different from a 2FA challenge. If the page says “Enter Two-Factor Authentication Code”:

- If available, select Sign-in with a Backup Code and enter an unused backup code.
- After regaining access, review and reconfigure 2FA so you can generate a fresh set of backup codes.
Do not share a backup code or verification code with anyone claiming to be support.

When a code arrives but does not work
- Use the newest code; an earlier request may have invalidated it.
- Enter it manually if pasting adds spaces or hidden characters.
- Make sure the code belongs to the same Activision account and browser session.
- Close duplicate login tabs and sign out of unrelated Activision or Battle.net accounts.
- Try a private or incognito browser window if the wrong account keeps loading.
- Request only one replacement code, then enter it promptly.
After successful verification, restart Warzone if it was running. Activision also advises restarting a running game after email verification so account-related changes can be recognized.
If you no longer have the email address or phone
First try to recover the mailbox or phone number through the email provider or carrier. If that is impossible, contact Activision Support and explain that you are trying to recover the original account.
Activision warns that privacy and security restrictions may prevent support from changing account details. An inaccessible destination is therefore not something that repeated resends can reliably fix.
Do not create a new Activision account to bypass the prompt
Warzone progression is associated with the Activision account. Activision’s account-registration guidance warns that progression will not carry over if a platform account is linked to a different Activision account.

Do not unlink Battle.net or connect it to a newly created Activision account merely to get past verification. Purchases, statistics, unlocks, and progression should not be assumed to merge. Before changing anything, record your existing Activision ID and linked-account information.

An unfamiliar destination is suspicious, although it does not by itself prove that the account was compromised.
- Stop requesting codes.
- Save a screenshot of the prompt while redacting private information.
- If possible, sign in through an already trusted linked platform.
- Review linked accounts and recent account activity.
- Change the password if you see suspicious activity.
- Use Activision’s hacked-account recovery route if unauthorized links or login attempts continue.
Never pay a third party that promises to “unlock” or “verify” the account. Do not give anyone your password, SMS code, authenticator code, or backup code.
When to contact support
Open an official support case when the email is still missing after Activision’s 24-hour retry guidance, SMS delivery remains unavailable, the destination is obsolete or unfamiliar, the code is repeatedly rejected, the verification screen loops, or Battle.net works normally while Warzone remains blocked.

Use Battle.net support when you cannot sign in to Battle.net itself or are stuck on its device-authorization page. Use Activision Support for an Activision verification, 2FA, account-linking, or Warzone account-recovery problem.
Keep one case open because Activision indicates that opening another case may close an existing one. Include:
- Activision ID and BattleTag.
- Platform and region.
- The exact error text.
- Whether the missing method is email, SMS, authenticator, or backup code.
- The masked destination shown by the prompt.
- Approximate dates and times of your attempts.
- Screenshots with email addresses, phone numbers, and codes redacted.
- A clear statement that you want to recover the original account, not create a replacement.
What will not normally fix a missing verification code
Reinstalling Warzone, reinstalling Battle.net, buying another copy of the game, using a VPN, or installing PC-cleaning software does not address an account-side delivery or verification problem. Unlinking and relinking accounts can create a progression problem, and third-party recovery services can expose your credentials.
