Are real coaches in College Football 26?
Yes. EA describes College Football 26 as featuring authentic coaching styles from more than 300 real-world coaches, with schemes intended to reflect those coaches. That is EA’s description of the game, not an independent assessment of how closely each coach or scheme is represented. EA’s May 29, 2025 reveal and its College Football 26 feature page both describe the coach feature.

The coaches are part of a wider gameplay pitch. EA also lists enhanced offensive and defensive mechanics, stunts and twists, dynamic substitutions, improved blocking and coverage, custom zones, enhanced AI, and play-calling adjustments. These are announced features; EA’s pages do not independently establish how well they work in play.
Does College Football 26 have high school?
Yes, as the start of Road to Glory. EA frames the mode as an athlete’s rise from high-school recruit toward a college career and Heisman contention. Its official materials describe building a highlight tape, earning offers and scholarships, moving up class rankings, and making recruiting choices.

EA does not describe this as a standalone, fully simulated high-school season. The supported interpretation is that high school serves as the opening stage and recruiting backdrop for a career that continues into college.
How does Road to Glory start?
In the June 27, 2025 developer deep dive, EA says players choose a starting star rating, position, archetype, and high school. The starting rating sets initial attributes and early expectations. The four starting paths are:

The key difference is whether you want to make decisions as one athlete or run a whole program. EA positions Road to Glory as a player career and Dynasty as a coaching and program-management mode.

What Dynasty includes
EA describes Dynasty as a mode for managing a coaching staff, upgrading abilities, recruiting, building a roster through the transfer portal, and developing players through traits and skill points. A Trophy Room tracks awards and titles, while recruiting includes location-based visits. EA’s Dynasty feature page says as many as 3,500 athletes can enter the transfer portal per season; that is EA’s stated in-game maximum, not a claim about real-world transfer totals.
What else is included?
EA also promotes stadium- and situation-specific music, fight songs, dynamic commentary, and presentation that changes with the season. College Football Ultimate Team is a separate mode built around a roster of past legends and current college stars, with head-to-head play and themed challenges.

The play-count figure varies across EA’s materials: the May 29, 2025 reveal announced more than 2,700 new plays, while the later feature page says over 2,800. The later page does not display a publication date, so these should be treated as differently dated EA descriptions rather than combined into a single verified count.

EA announced College Football 26 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Online Dynasty supports cross-play between those platforms and can host a 32-person league, according to EA’s welcome article. Cross-play requires an internet connection, current game updates, an EA Account, and an applicable platform account.
