Comet Azur is a legendary sorcery in Elden Ring. Find Primeval Sorcerer Azur near Hermit Village on Mt. Gelmir to obtain it; to equip and cast it, you need 60 Intelligence and three open memory slots. Holding the cast input sustains the comet torrent, but also continues to consume FP—so it works best when an encounter gives you time for a long channel.
Where to find Comet Azur
Travel to Mt. Gelmir and look for Primeval Sorcerer Azur on the cliffs southeast of Hermit Village. Interact with him to receive the sorcery. Both the Elden Ring Wiki and GameSpot’s spell guide place Azur near Hermit Village.

Obtaining the spell does not automatically make it usable: you still have to meet its Intelligence requirement and allocate memory slots.

The initial cost is not the total cost of a sustained cast. Additional FP use depends on how long you keep releasing the sorcery, and equipment or patch-sensitive mechanics can affect the details. Plan for the channel to use substantially more FP than the initial cast alone.

Why Comet Azur may be unavailable or greyed out
Check the two requirements separately: the character must have at least 60 Intelligence, and Comet Azur needs three available memory slots. If you have just found it, equip it in a Site of Grace’s spell-memorization menu after making sure enough slots are free. Meeting the Intelligence requirement alone does not provide the needed slots.
How the spell works in combat
Comet Azur fires a powerful comet-like torrent. After beginning the cast, hold the cast input to keep releasing its power; that extended channel consumes further FP. The spell therefore asks for both a resource commitment and an opening long enough to make use of it.

Look for a safe, predictable opening
A target that stays in place or is occupied can give you time to channel. A mobile enemy, an incoming attack, or an interruption can end the opportunity before the spell’s sustained release pays off. Positioning and timing matter more than simply having the spell equipped.
Budget for both FP and spell slots
Three memory slots are a meaningful build commitment, and the continuing FP drain makes a long cast resource-intensive. Leave room in your setup for the other spells and resources your character needs rather than treating Comet Azur as a cost-free default attack.

Treat it as an option, not a universal boss answer
GameSpot describes Comet Azur as powerful and recommends it for sorcery builds, but that is guide advice rather than a controlled comparison. The available sources do not establish that it is the best choice against every boss or provide a current-patch ranking against named alternatives. Whether it works well depends on the encounter’s openings and the caster’s build.

Does “Comet Azur” mean the Elden Ring spell?
In this context, yes: Comet Azur is the Elden Ring sorcery. The same exact name also appears in an unrelated Final Fantasy XIV character profile, so adding “Elden Ring” is useful when searching or sharing the name without context.
