Faut-il être hors ligne ?
Non. Malgré sa réputation de jeu hors ligne, Edge Surf peut être lancé manuellement avec edge://surf lorsque la connexion fonctionne. Il peut également apparaître lorsque Edge détecte qu’une page ne peut pas être chargée faute de connexion.
Le mode hors ligne peut toutefois être indisponible sur un appareil administré ou sur une version d’Edge qui ne prend pas correctement en charge la fonctionnalité.

Vous pouvez changer de mode depuis l’écran principal du jeu.
Commandes, tactile et manettes
Microsoft indique qu’Edge Surf prend en charge le clavier, la souris, l’écran tactile ainsi que plusieurs manettes : Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro et Xbox Adaptive Controller.
Les touches exactes peuvent varier selon le périphérique et la version du jeu. Pour les vérifier, ouvrez le menu Settings ou Paramètres depuis l’écran du jeu avant de commencer. Si une manette ne répond pas, vérifiez qu’elle est reconnue par le système, que la fenêtre Edge est active, puis essayez temporairement le clavier ou le tactile.

Options d’accessibilité et statistiques
Le menu des paramètres propose notamment :
- High visibility mode ou mode haute visibilité, qui rend les zones de collision et les obstacles plus faciles à distinguer ;

Microsoft mentionne également la compatibilité avec le contraste élevé, les lecteurs d’écran et la Xbox Adaptive Controller. Chaque mode possède une statistique ou un meilleur score personnel. Les statistiques peuvent être réinitialisées depuis les paramètres du jeu. Rien n’indique toutefois que ces scores soient synchronisés entre plusieurs appareils.

Le gameplay repose sur l’évitement des îles, du Kraken et des poursuivants. Vous pouvez aussi ramasser des cœurs pour prolonger la partie et utiliser des boosts pour accélérer. Les pièces sont particulièrement importantes dans le mode Time Trial.
Microsoft confirme également l’existence de secrets dans le jeu. Le menu principal fait référence à un code de triche, et certains secrets permettent notamment de secourir un ami pour obtenir temporairement une protection contre les poursuivants en mode Endless, d’obtenir des cœurs et des boosts illimités ou de débloquer un personnage jouable emblématique.

- Saisissez l’adresse au bon endroit : utilisez directement la barre d’adresse et vérifiez qu’elle est exactement
edge://surf. - Mettez Edge à jour : installez la dernière version disponible, puis redémarrez le navigateur.
- Testez un autre profil : un profil professionnel ou scolaire peut appliquer des restrictions.
- Vérifiez l’administration de l’appareil : la stratégie Microsoft
AllowSurfGamepeut désactiver complètement le jeu, y compris hors ligne.
Sur un ordinateur d’entreprise ou d’école, ne modifiez pas le registre et ne contournez pas les règles sans autorisation : demandez à l’administrateur informatique de vérifier la stratégie.
Si le jeu apparaît mais que les commandes ne fonctionnent pas, consultez les contrôles dans les paramètres, assurez-vous que la fenêtre est active et testez un autre périphérique.

Edge Surf fonctionne-t-il sur téléphone ?
Microsoft présente Surf comme disponible sur mobile, mais la compatibilité peut varier selon la plateforme, le marché, l’appareil et la version de l’application Edge. Sur téléphone, utilisez l’application officielle Microsoft Edge, mettez-la à jour et essayez edge://surf. Si la page ne s’ouvre pas, cela peut simplement refléter une limitation de la version mobile installée.
La documentation d’administration de Microsoft ne décrit pas la disponibilité mobile de manière identique pour toutes les plateformes. Il est donc préférable d’éviter l’affirmation selon laquelle le jeu fonctionnerait sur tous les téléphones.

Vous pouvez jouer en ligne ou hors ligne, choisir entre Endless, Time Trial et Zig Zag, utiliser un clavier, une souris, le tactile ou une manette compatible, puis ajuster la visibilité et la vitesse dans les paramètres. Si l’adresse est bloquée, la cause la plus probable est une version obsolète, une incompatibilité mobile ou une restriction administrateur.
