To find one, match its season, active hours, weather, and habitat; some entries also require a light or pheromone lure. The catalog is an unofficial reference, so treat its conditions as a version-labeled checklist rather than a guarantee for every current patch.
How to use the bug list
Each catalog entry is organized around the conditions that determine where and when a bug can appear. Check all four before searching: the right season, time window, weather, and habitat. A matching location alone is not enough.
The complete 93-entry catalog, including each bug’s conditions, rarity, and sale value, is available in the Fields of Mistria Grandwiki bug catalog. The page labels its data as matching version 1.0; it is not an official developer source, and the species list and spawn details have not been independently verified against official game data.
Reading the time windows
Some listed hours run past 24 to represent times after midnight. For example, 20–26 means 8 p.m. through 2 a.m. Read that as one continuous evening-to-early-morning window, rather than as an invalid clock time.
#1 Best Overall
Weather, rarity, and lures
The catalog says rain and snow reduce overall spawns to 0.8 of the baseline, while storms and blizzards reduce them to 0.3. These are community-reference figures, not independently tested measurements. When a target is difficult to find in adverse weather, the catalog’s stated modifiers may help explain fewer encounters, but they do not establish an exact chance of catching a particular species.
It groups bugs into common, uncommon, rare, and very rare categories. Its stated weights within the eligible pool are 15, 14, 3, and 1, respectively. These weights describe relative weighting as reported by the fan reference; they should not be read as guaranteed encounter percentages. The catalog also identifies certain bugs as responding to light or pheromone lures, including entries described as lure-only. Check the individual entry for a lure requirement before spending time searching without one.

What the catalog covers
The list includes bugs associated with the town and fields, beach, Deep Woods, Mines, and water. Named entries include Ancient Firefly, Ant, Ant Queen, Beach Hopper, Big Bee, Butterfly, Cooktop Beetle, Fairy Bee, Sand Bug, and Winterpillar. These examples are not a substitute for the full list; use the catalog table to check all 93 entries and their specific conditions.

The detailed catalog is labeled version 1.0. A separate unofficial update timeline tracks official posts through v1.0.4 and notes a v0.15.3 change to Lava Caves bug spawn rates, but its freshness information is inconsistent. That timeline does not establish that all version 1.0 conditions remain current. For version-sensitive searches, compare the in-game results with the official patch notes for your installed version; the fan reference’s update overview is at Fields of Mistria updates.
