On October 29, Sony made the decision permanent: Concord was sunset and Firewalk Studios was closed.
When did Concord launch and go offline?
Concord launched globally for PS5 and PC on August 23, 2024, according to PlayStation’s launch announcement. Owners of the Digital Deluxe Edition could begin playing in Early Access on August 20. PlayStation said the game required a PlayStation Network account and an internet connection; PS5 players also needed a paid PlayStation Plus membership.

PlayStation’s support page lists September 6, 2024, as the date Concord was taken offline. The “two weeks” description refers to the interval between the August 23 global launch and that offline date; the game was not playable as an online service after September 6.
What happened in September—and what changed in October?

The September announcement left open the possibility of other options; it did not announce a return. Sony’s October statement ended that uncertainty, saying the game would be permanently sunset.

Can you still play Concord?
No. Concord was taken offline on September 6, 2024, and Sony later confirmed its permanent sunset. A physical PS5 disc does not restore access to the online game. The official information establishes that physical copies were sold through retailers, but does not establish current stock or availability.
How do Concord refunds work?
PlayStation’s published instructions vary by where the game was bought. They describe the refund process announced at shutdown, not a guarantee that a new claim can be made now or that a particular purchase remains eligible.

- PlayStation Store or PlayStation Direct: PlayStation said PS5 purchases would be refunded automatically to the original payment method. It warned that refunds could take 30–60 days to appear on a bank statement. If the original payment source was unavailable, the amount would go to the PSN wallet.
- Steam: Steam processed refunds for purchases made there.
- Epic Games Store: Epic handled refunds for its purchases.
- Physical copy from another retailer: PlayStation directed customers to follow that retailer’s refund process.

In its October 29 announcement, Sony said some aspects of Concord were exceptional, but others did not attract enough players. It described the PvP first-person-shooter genre as competitive and said the company had not met its targets with the game. That is Sony’s stated assessment; the announcement did not provide a sales total, player count, or independently measured explanation for the outcome.
