Content Warning is a co-op horror game about filming scary encounters with friends; Steam’s listing highlights online co-op and advises players not to go alone. An April 13, 2024 guide from Insider Gaming described 17 reported monsters, but that count and the behaviors below are a dated third-party snapshot—not a confirmed current roster or independently verified mechanics. Use the cues as reported guidance, not guaranteed rules.

How to use this creature guide

The practical response depends on what the creature is doing: take cover from a pull, break line of sight against a ranged threat, avoid a trap’s trigger, or get help from a teammate. Specific warnings and tactics here are attributed to Insider Gaming’s April 13, 2024 guide. The source did not establish that its roster or mechanics remain current.

The table lists the 17 creatures reported by that guide. “Warning” and “escape response” summarize its descriptions; they are not official or independently tested mechanics.

Creature Reported warning or threat Reported escape response Team, light, or sound note
Barnacle Ball Pulls players toward it with a wind current, then throws them. Put a wall or another structure between you and it to obstruct the pull. Use cover; no special teammate action is stated.
Big Slap Aggressive; the guide says a hit can remove most or all of a player’s health. Run away; the guide says there is little else to do. No special light, sound, or teammate tactic is stated.
Bombs Sneaks up and throws explosives. The guide suggests baiting it toward its own explosive, a risky tactic rather than a safe or guaranteed escape. No special light or sound tactic is stated.
Dog Marks a player with a red sight before firing shots. Break line of sight by running around corners. Use solid cover; no special light or sound tactic is stated.
The Ear Described as sensitive to sound. The guide suggests speaking loudly into the microphone to make it retreat. Microphone sound matters in the reported advice; this response is not verified current behavior.
Eye Guy Described as light-sensitive and likely to stalk from behind. Avoid shining a flashlight at it; run if encountered. Light matters: keep the flashlight off it, according to the guide.
Flicker Usually invisible; the guide describes camera glitches and red screen flashes as proximity warnings. It recommends facing a wall and fleeing. Its claim that Flicker causes instant death is the guide’s report, not a verified current mechanic. Watch for the reported visual and camera cues; no teammate tactic is stated.
Jello Can drag a player around; the guide describes a more dangerous second grab. Run away as soon as you see it. No special light, sound, or teammate tactic is stated.
Knifo (Harpoon) A knife-wielding pursuer that giggles nearby. Outrun it. The guide says it may lose interest after roughly 30 seconds; that duration is unverified. Listen for the reported giggle; no teammate tactic is stated.
Larva Fast creature that grabs and throws players. Run when seen; warn teammates if grabbed. Warn the team if you are caught.
Mouthe The guide says it appears to target players who are alone and may mute teammates while screaming. Stay with another player, as the dated guide recommends. Team proximity is central to the reported response; the behavior is not confirmed current.
Snatcho Can turn invisible, steal held items—including the camera—and drag players. The guide suggests shining a light on it. Light is the reported counter; no guarantee is established.
Slurper Hangs from ceilings and has a hard-to-see sensor that can grab players. Avoid the sensor. The guide says dropping an item or having a teammate throw something may startle it. A teammate may help distract it, according to the guide.
Spider Can spit webs that make movement difficult. Run away and avoid getting caught in webs. No special light, sound, or teammate tactic is stated.
Toolkit Whisk Charges in a straight line and knocks players back. Move laterally. The guide suggests baiting a charge, then stepping aside while it recovers. Use its reported straight-line charge to time a sidestep.
Weeping Thumping signals a nearby cage; looking away may let it trap a player. Back away while watching it. A teammate must enter the captcha correctly; the guide says three failed attempts kill the trapped player. Requires a teammate for the reported cage escape. The failed-attempt count is from the dated guide.
Zombie Slow pursuer that can grab and damage a player. Keep distance. The guide says a Shock Stick can make it convulse and create an escape opportunity. The Shock Stick is the reported item assist.

Which escape responses matter most?

Use cover or break line of sight

Against Barnacle Ball, put a structure between you and the pull. Against Dog, use corners to interrupt the red-sight firing line. The guide’s advice for Big Slap is simpler: run rather than trying to fight it.

Pay attention to light and sound

The dated guide links light to two opposing responses: avoid shining a flashlight at Eye Guy, but shine one on Snatcho. It recommends loud microphone speech against The Ear and treats Knifo’s giggle as a nearby warning. These are source-reported behaviors, not a verified universal rule about how light or sound affects creatures.

Keep teammates in the encounter

The guide recommends staying together against Mouthe and says a teammate can free someone trapped by Weeping by entering the captcha correctly. It also advises warning teammates if Larva grabs you. When Slurper is overhead, a teammate may be able to throw an item to startle it.

What do the escape items do?

An April 14, 2024 companion guide from Insider Gaming describes these kiosk items and historical in-game prices. The guide warns that prices may vary, so the figures are not a statement of current prices.

The same companion guide lists Reporter Mic at $50 and Boom Mic at $100 in-game. These are historical figures from that guide, not confirmed current kiosk prices.

What to remember during a creature encounter

  • Identify the immediate threat: a pull, ranged attack, pursuit, web, ceiling sensor, or cage.
  • Use the reported counter that fits the threat: cover for Barnacle Ball, corners against Dog, distance from Big Slap, and a lateral dodge against Toolkit Whisk.
  • Do not assume every tactic is interchangeable: the guide says to avoid shining light at Eye Guy but suggests using light on Snatcho.
  • Use a teammate when the reported encounter calls for one, especially for Weeping’s cage or Mouthe’s alleged solo targeting.
  • Treat the roster, timings, kill claims, and item prices as dated advice from April 2024 rather than confirmed current values.
