The game is Content Warning, a co-op horror game on Steam where you and your friends descend into the Old World, film frightening encounters, and try to survive long enough to upload the footage to SpöökTube. Views earn in-game ad revenue for gear upgrades, so filming and staying alive are part of the same challenge.
What is Content Warning?
Content Warning is a PC game released on Steam on April 1, 2024. Steam describes it as a co-op horror game about filming spooky things with friends in an attempt to go viral. How does the SpöökTube gameplay loop work?
- Gear up and head down. Your squad buys equipment and takes a diving bell into the Old World.
- Film while managing risk. Capture creatures and other unsettling sights as you keep track of oxygen, camera battery, and your teammates’ safety.
- Get back and upload. Survivors return to the surface and upload their footage. A watch party follows, and the video’s views determine how much in-game ad revenue the group earns.
- Spend earnings on later runs. Ad revenue can pay for gear upgrades that help with future filming and survival. Runs are structured over three in-game days, and reaching the required views lets the group continue its SpöökTube career.
The central trade-off is simple: risky encounters may give you better footage, but recording is only useful if someone makes it back to upload it.
How many players can play together?
Steam lists online co-op for two to four players and voice chat. The game is built around a squad, so the practical draw is coordinating with friends while the expedition’s limited resources and dangers compete for attention. Steam store page
