In CONTROL Resonant, Artifacts are equippable passive modifiers that shape your build. Find Untapped Artifacts in the world, then craft them into usable Artifacts in the Gap. Remedy says you can equip three during a first playthrough and four in New Game Plus.
What Artifacts do
Lead Gameplay Designer Sergey Mohov describes Artifacts as “equippable items with passive modifiers that allow you to fine-tune your build.” Their effects can support survivability, combat performance, exploration, or resource economy. Some come with activation conditions or trade-offs, so an Artifact’s value depends on how you play and what situation you are preparing for.
When choosing between Artifacts, consider the effect category, any condition that activates it, and any downside. Remedy has not published a universal ranking of the best Artifacts in its overview; the intended choice is a setup suited to your current needs.
Where to find Artifacts
Look for Untapped Artifacts throughout the world. These are discoveries, not yet the usable crafted modifiers. Take them to the Gap and craft them into Artifacts. Remedy’s official explanation does not identify individual item locations or provide a complete item-by-item catalog, so it supports the overall discovery-and-crafting loop rather than a precise location guide.

How many Artifacts can you equip?
Remedy’s April 30, 2026 overview states that the first playthrough allows up to three equipped Artifacts. A fourth slot unlocks in New Game Plus. These figures describe how many you can equip at once, not the total number you can discover or craft.
