These are different problems. If a collectible vanished from the Archive after you opened it immediately after pickup, Remedy has documented a menu-selection issue; it does not establish that every missing Artifact is caused by that bug or that the item will be restored automatically. Update the game, restart, and check again before trying anything that could affect your save.
Identify what is actually missing
Write down the Artifact or collectible’s exact name and the screen where you expected to find it. “Missing” could mean several different things:

- World pickup: You cannot find or interact with the item where you expected it.
- Archive entry: The item appears to have been collected, but its record is absent, unselected, or not displayed as expected.
- Inventory, formation, or loadout: You cannot find the item in a menu where you expected to use or equip it.
Do not assume an Archive entry, an item used in a formation or crafting interface, and an equipped effect are interchangeable. The exact item and screen are needed to diagnose the difference.
If it is missing from the Archive
Remedy’s known-issues page documents a problem in which opening a collectible immediately after picking it up does not always select it in the Archive menu. Return to the relevant Archive category and check the entry again. This is a display or selection symptom; the documented issue does not confirm that the underlying pickup was lost or explain how to recover every absent entry.

Archive audio behavior is a separate issue. Remedy’s update 1.4.0 notes include a fix for an audio collectible that would not always play when the player immediately opened Archives to listen. A playback problem does not by itself show that the collectible was never acquired.
Update and restart before escalating
- Check for an available CONTROL Resonant update on your platform or storefront, install it, and note the installed game version if it is shown.
- Close and restart the game.
- Open the relevant Archive category or the inventory, formation, or loadout screen where you expected the item, then check again.
The known-issues page says its listed issues are planned to be addressed in a subsequent update, and the 1.4.0 notes show that collectible and Archive behavior has received fixes. The installed version therefore matters, but these notes do not establish that an update will restore every item that appears to be missing.

Protect your save while troubleshooting
Do not delete local or cloud saves, replace save files, or follow an unverified save-editing suggestion as a routine fix. Remedy’s getting-started guide cautions against deleting saves unless you intend to start over or Player Support has identified a corrupted save.
Revisit a location only if you have a concrete lead from the game or an authoritative guide, such as a known pickup location or an unfinished quest interaction. The available official guidance does not establish that every Artifact is missable, permanently lost, or recoverable through New Game Plus.

Report an Artifact that remains missing
If the item is still absent after updating and restarting, contact Remedy through its Player Support portal. Remedy’s bug-reporting guide asks players to provide details such as platform, what happened, where it happened, reproduction steps if known, progress, ability loadout, recent unlocks, and supporting evidence.
For a missing Artifact, include:
- The exact item name and the category or screen where it should appear.
- Your platform and storefront, plus your User ID and game version if available.
- The mission, area, or menu involved, and what action should have awarded the item.
- Your relevant quest progress, recent unlocks, and the troubleshooting steps you already tried.
- A screenshot or video showing the missing entry or the relevant location, if possible.
Attach save data or PC diagnostics only when appropriate or when Support requests them through the support flow. A precise report helps distinguish a missing world pickup from an Archive display issue or a menu-related mix-up.

What can be concluded without more details
Remedy has acknowledged a collectible-selection issue after immediate opening, and its update notes describe a separate Archive audio fix. Those facts make checking the Archive again and confirming the installed version sensible first steps; they do not prove the cause of a particular missing Artifact. Without the item name, platform, version, screen, and quest context, there is no reliable item-specific location or universal recovery method to give.
