Remedy’s free Control Ultimate Edition update 1.30 arrived on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 6, 2025. It adds three outfits and a previously PS4 Digital Deluxe-exclusive mission for all players, alongside display and rendering improvements—including PS5 Pro-specific PSSR support.
What update 1.30 adds
The October 2025 console update is free for owners of Control Ultimate Edition. Remedy had released update 1.30 on PC earlier in 2025; the console release brought its new content and console-specific improvements to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Remedy’s October 6, 2025 console notes identify the version as 1.30.

- Three outfits: Astral Dive Suit, Tactical Response Gear, and Urban Response Gear.
- A new-to-most-players mission: Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience, with a voiceover by Hideo Kojima. It had previously been exclusive to the PS4 Digital Deluxe edition.
- Console improvements: HDR, VRR and 120 Hz output support, improved TAA, 10-bit SDR output, and platform-specific frame-rate options. PS5 Pro also gets PSSR and additional image-filtering changes.
How to find the outfits and Dr. Tokui mission
Equip the outfits
Go to the Control Point in the Central Executive Sector. The three newly available outfits can be accessed and equipped there.
Start the Guided Imagery Experience
In the Research Sector, find the Extrasensory Lab and pick up the Dr Tokui Tapes collectible. That starts Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience, featuring Hideo Kojima’s voiceover.

What changes on PS5 and PS5 Pro
Both PS5 models receive an unlocked-frame-rate setting, VRR and 120 Hz output support, improved TAA, HDR, and 10-bit SDR output. These are supported output and rendering options; an unlocked frame rate does not guarantee 120 frames per second.
PS5 Pro additions
PS5 Pro adds PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), improved Screen Space Reflections in Performance Mode, and updated texture and shadow filtering. Remedy says PSSR can slightly affect performance and can be disabled in settings.

Xbox Series X and Series S changes
Both Xbox Series X|S models receive an unlocked-frame-rate setting, VRR and 120 Hz output support, improved TAA, HDR, and 10-bit SDR output. The frame-rate unlock differs by console and mode:

Remedy’s notes list these as settings and support changes, not as a promise of a fixed frame rate in every scene. Display features such as VRR, 120 Hz, and HDR also depend on a compatible screen and setup.

What is—and isn’t—in the console update
The PC version of update 1.30 was released on March 13, 2025, according to Remedy’s PC update notes on Steam. Those PC notes include DLSS 4, ultrawide support, higher rendering resolutions, and ray-tracing changes. They are PC features, not additions announced for the PS5 or Xbox release.
