CookieRun: Kingdom version 7.9 launched on September 23, 2026, with the Timeline of Fate chapter Mortal Flames, Eternal Change. It opens Episode 11, Flames that Devour the Ages, without requiring players to clear earlier episodes, and adds Rajapendra Cookie, Mogra Cookie, Kingdom Eras, Pride-Filled Toppings, and the Seed of Change tactical skill. Episode 12, A Sun That Shines Eternal, followed in an October 7 notice with a new combat effect called Flame of Mortality.
What is Mortal Flames, Eternal Change?
Mortal Flames, Eternal Change is a Timeline of Fate story chapter in CookieRun: Kingdom version 7.9. Devsisters’ September 23, 2026 update notice introduces Episode 11, Flames that Devour the Ages, and says Golden Cheese Cookie journeys into the Spice Civilization’s past to uncover Burning Spice Cookie’s hidden story. The notice said Episode 12 would arrive in a later update; Devsisters identified it as A Sun That Shines Eternal in an October 7 notice.

The official trailer, published September 18, frames the story as Golden Cheese Cookie entering Burning Spice Cookie’s memories to restore a kingdom shattered by war. That is the trailer’s promotional setup, rather than an independent assessment of the chapter.
How do you unlock Episode 11?
The September 23 launch notice says Episode 11 can be played without clearing previous episodes. You can enter Flames that Devour the Ages directly rather than treating earlier story clears as a prerequisite. The notice does not specify additional account-level or gameplay requirements.

What changes between Episode 11 and Episode 12?
The episodes feature distinct combat effects. Both affect enemies over time and interact with the Seed of Change tactical skill, but they differ in what stacks do and in the results of consuming them.
| Episode | Effect | What happens in combat | Named Cookie exceptions or benefits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Episode 11: Flames that Devour the Ages | Flame of Annihilation | Stacks periodically build on enemies and increase their ATK SPD. Attacks consume a stack and inflict Max HP and DMG Dealt debuffs. | Burning Spice Cookie and Rajapendra Cookie receive an ATK benefit instead of the debuff. Mogra Cookie gains greatly increased ATK and DMG Dampening. |
| Episode 12: A Sun That Shines Eternal | Flame of Mortality | Enemies periodically gain DMG Dampening stacks. Attacks consume stacks to reduce a target’s Max HP and DMG dealt and inflict bonus Burn. When all stacks are consumed, enemies recover HP. | Burning Spice Cookie and Rajapendra Cookie receive an ATK buff instead of the debuff. Mogra Cookie gains increased ATK and DMG Dampening. |
These are episode-specific mechanics as described in Devsisters’ September 23 and October 7 notices; they are not evidence of a universal team recommendation or a current PvP ranking.

How does Seed of Change work?
Seed of Change is a tactical skill that clears the listed episode-effect debuffs from allies and restores HP. Its charge is connected to the enemy stacks expiring or an enemy becoming incapacitated. In the Episode 11 notice, Devsisters says Mogra Cookie on the team significantly increases its charge rate. For Episode 12, the October 7 notice describes it clearing the listed Flame of Annihilation and Flame of Mortality debuffs and charging when all stacks on an enemy expire or an enemy becomes incapacitated.

Mogra Cookie
Mogra is an Epic Healing Cookie. The update notices describe her as gaining increased ATK and DMG Dampening under the specified episode effects, and the Episode 11 notice says her presence significantly increases Seed of Change’s charge rate.
