COR3’s First Trailer: What the Sci-Fi Teaser Shows—and What It Doesn’t

COR3’s first teaser is a brief first-person view of a ruined Mars city and the space beyond. The project was later announced as Fragmentary Order, separate from Battlestate Games and Tarkov.

COR3’s first-look trailer arrived on February 1, 2026, showing a brief first-person sequence that shifts from a ruined city on Mars to a view of orbital space. It is a visual teaser, not a full gameplay demonstration. Although Nikita Buyanov’s connection to Escape from Tarkov prompted “Tarkov in space” comparisons, he said COR3 was not related to Battlestate Games or Tarkov. In April, the project was announced as Fragmentary Order, with Rant Gaming as developer and Cor3 as publisher.

What does the first COR3 trailer show?

The short trailer begins in first person, with weapon handling amid a ruined city identified in contemporaneous coverage as Mariner City. The camera then pulls back across Mars and out into space. The sequence establishes a science-fiction setting and perspective, but does not demonstrate a complete combat loop, progression system, or other finished gameplay features. Insider Gaming’s February 1, 2026, trailer report describes the footage.

Coverage published two days later also noted orbital structures, damaged spacecraft, and an astronaut. Inven Global quoted the official COR3 website’s fictional premise: “Two hundred years ago, humanity—standing on the brink of extinction—united under the leadership of a secret organization proclaimed as ‘The Core’ to prevent mutually assured destruction.” That is part of the game’s lore, not a real-world historical claim. Inven Global’s February 3 report gives that account.

Is COR3 a game from the developer of Escape from Tarkov?

Not in the sense that Battlestate Games made it. The comparison arose because Nikita Buyanov, closely associated with Escape from Tarkov, was personally involved in the new project. On February 4, 2026, he directly corrected the studio and franchise assumption: “This is not related to BSG or Tarkov.” His post was reproduced by Insider Gaming and AUTOMATON; the latter URL is not among the sources provided for this assignment, so omit it.

The later developer attribution is more precise: Rant Gaming announced Fragmentary Order with Cor3 as publisher. PC Gamer reported that Buyanov said a separate company he created was developing it, while he would continue working on Tarkov with Battlestate Games. PC Gamer’s April 14, 2026, report covers that distinction.

What is COR3 called now?

Early coverage used COR3, the title or branding visible during the teaser campaign. In April 2026, Rant Gaming and publisher Cor3 announced Fragmentary Order, identifying it as a science-fiction combat simulator about remote warfare and survival. The announcement described a setting in 2251 and said the game was in development exclusively for PC. GamesBeat reported the announcement on April 12, with an update on April 13.

What has been said about gameplay?

The February trailer’s first-person weapon handling should not be mistaken for confirmation of the later-described systems. In a GamesBeat interview published April 22, Buyanov said Fragmentary Order includes extraction mechanics, but characterized the broader concept as a “combat simulator.” He described combat in which humans control clones or drones, and said vehicles and maps were planned. These are Buyanov’s later design descriptions, not features established by the original teaser. GamesBeat’s interview contains his comments.

Buyanov also cautioned against treating the project as a replacement for Tarkov: “People should not treat this as a replacement for Tarkov.” The “Tarkov in space” shorthand captures why the teaser attracted attention, but it does not describe the project’s stated relationship to Battlestate or its intended design.

When can players try or buy it?

The April GamesBeat announcement said testing phases were planned for later in 2026. That was a plan reported in April, not confirmation that a test opened or remains available as of October 8, 2026. The sources available here do not establish a current alpha or playtest status, a release date, or a launch window. Check official COR3 channels for current availability; the website’s status could not be confirmed from the source material.

GamesBeat also reported Buyanov’s estimate of around 54 million people in overall engagement. He defined that as cumulative interest signals—including signups, email submissions, wishlists, and Twitch follows—not as 54 million players, buyers, or confirmed playtesters.
