Fix 1: Repair CorelDRAW Graphics Suite
This is the most likely solution because repair restores missing or corrupted files belonging to the suite.
- Close Corel PHOTO-PAINT, CorelDRAW, and other Corel programs.
- Press
Windowsand type Control Panel. - Open Control Panel.
- Select Programs, then Programs and Features.
- Find the installed CorelDRAW Graphics Suite entry. An older or separately branded edition may use a specific year or release name.

- Choose Uninstall or Change.
- Follow the removal wizard.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the original Corel installer as an administrator. Right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator.

Setup.exe /f
Another documented deployment command is:
Setup.exe REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=oums /qn
These commands are intended for administrators who have the correct Corel deployment source. They are not substitutes for the normal Control Panel repair process when the installation media is unknown.
Fix 3: Check Microsoft Defender quarantine
Antivirus software can remove or quarantine an application DLL after an update, a false positive, or a change in the file’s signature.
- Press
Windowsand type Windows Security. - Open Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Review recent detections for a Corel file.

A “Bad Image” error requires more investigation than a simple missing-file message.
Identify the application path
- Open the Start menu.
- Search for Corel PHOTO-PAINT.
- Right-click the result and choose Open file location.
- If this opens a shortcut folder, right-click the shortcut and select Properties.
- Review the Target field.
- Use Open File Location to inspect the folder containing the Corel executable.
The exact location depends on the release and installation choices. Do not move corelpp.dll to System32, SysWOW64, or another arbitrary folder.
Check the file properties
If a copy of the file exists:
- Right-click
corelpp.dll. - Select Properties.

Match 32-bit and 64-bit software
A 32-bit Corel application needs compatible 32-bit modules and runtime dependencies, even when Windows itself is 64-bit. A 64-bit application cannot use a 32-bit DLL in the same way.

Fix 5: Install a missing Microsoft runtime only when named
Do not reinstall Visual C++ merely because corelpp.dll is missing. The Visual C++ packages provide Microsoft runtime libraries, not Corel’s application DLL.
They become relevant when the complete error names a dependency such as:
MSVCP*.dllVCRUNTIME*.dllucrtbase.dllapi-ms-win-crt*.dll
Use Microsoft’s official Visual C++ downloads and install the architecture required by the Corel application. A 32-bit Corel program generally needs the x86 package, even on 64-bit Windows. Older Corel releases may also require a legacy Visual C++ generation.
After installing the appropriate package:
- Restart Windows.
- Run Corel Repair again.
- Start PHOTO-PAINT.
- If the same dependency error remains, record the exact filename and architecture instead of installing random runtime packages.
A runtime installation will not repair a deleted or damaged corelpp.dll.
Fix 6: Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC
SFC and DISM do not normally restore a third-party Corel DLL. Use them when Windows itself appears damaged, when several unrelated applications fail, or when the error mentions system components.
Run DISM
- Press

Run SFC

Wait until verification reaches 100 percent, then restart Windows.
If Windows reports that it repaired corrupted files, test PHOTO-PAINT again. If it reports no integrity violations, that only confirms that protected Windows files are intact. It does not prove that corelpp.dll exists or that the Corel installation is healthy.

Manually hunting through Windows components and repeating DISM or SFC without knowing what changed can be time-consuming. Fix 7: Update Windows and the graphics driver
A Windows update or graphics driver change may expose an existing Corel compatibility problem, but updating a driver will not normally replace corelpp.dll.
Install pending Windows updates first:
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Choose Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Restart Windows.
To check the display driver:
- Right-click the Start button.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.

Do not use regsvr32 as a general fix
Do not run:
regsvr32 corelpp.dll
unless Corel specifically documents that the DLL must be registered.
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. Most application modules are loaded privately by their owning executable and do not need registration. Running the command can produce another error without repairing the installation.
If you already tried it and received a message about an entry point or registration failure, use Corel Repair instead.
Use System Restore only after a recent change
System Restore can help if the error began immediately after a driver, update, or software installation and a restore point predates the failure.

- Select a restore point from before the problem began.
- Review the affected programs and drivers.
- Start the restore.
System Restore changes installed programs, drivers, registry settings, and system state. It normally does not change personal documents, but save open work before proceeding.
After the restore completes, test PHOTO-PAINT. If the DLL disappears again after updating Corel or running antivirus, investigate that specific change instead of repeatedly restoring the system.
What not to do
Avoid these common shortcuts:
- Downloading
corelpp.dllfrom a random DLL website. - Copying a DLL into
System32orSysWOW64. - Replacing the file with one from another Corel release.
- Disabling antivirus permanently.
