That is a stated development rationale, not an independent assessment of the game or a promise that it will be free of bugs. GTA 6 has not launched, so there is no real-world launch performance to judge and no reliable statistic establishing its odds of serious technical problems.

Why Cyberpunk 2077 is part of the conversation
Cyberpunk 2077 is a real example of a high-profile game whose launch prompted a substantial response. CD PROJEKT RED released it on December 10, 2020, for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Stadia; the company also said it was playable on the then-new Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles. CD PROJEKT later reported that it offered refunds and that Sony temporarily suspended the game’s digital distribution on the PlayStation Store on December 18, 2020. The suspension concerned store availability; it did not mean existing purchasers lost access. CD PROJEKT also estimated that Cyberpunk 2077 had sold over 13 million copies by December 20, 2020. The company described that figure as estimated sell-through across platforms, net of retail refunds and direct refund requests known when it issued the report. The comparison is useful as context for why players worry about ambitious releases, but it cannot predict GTA 6’s performance. The platform lists are not equivalent measures of technical difficulty, and Cyberpunk 2077’s sales or post-launch history does not establish a defect rate for another game.
