To finish the Mirogana counterfeit investigation, you need to open it through the Pyke Syndicate, sell an item to the trader Hen Puon, follow his lead to the Soup Kitchen in Crimson Dawn territory, use Nix to get past a stopped fan into a restricted room, find the stash, and then decide which faction to report to.
Most walkthroughs and Intel-chain descriptions file this objective as Counterfeit Credits. If the title in your journal reads “Counterfeit Currency,” it is the same investigation, so search for either name. The route below reflects walkthroughs from PC Gamer, GamesRadar+ and Shacknews as of October 2026. Later game updates could change details such as locations or prompts.

How to start the investigation
The investigation opens through the Pyke Syndicate, not through a general market visit. Walkthroughs say you need to build good reputation with the Pykes first. Once you have it, go to their Mirogana territory and speak to the Pyke seated in the bar area near the card room and Sabacc table. The conversation asks Kay to look into counterfeit credits circulating in the market, and guides describe it as unlocking the Market Trader intel.
Walkthrough: step by step

Find Hen Puon in the Mirogana Market. Guides place him in the Mirogana Market, though their directions differ depending on how the map is oriented, so look for him rather than relying on a compass direction. Walking through the area is not enough to trigger the lead. You have to sell him an item from your inventory. A low-value or expendable item is the sensible choice if you have one. The sale is what exposes the counterfeit credits, and Hen points Kay toward the Soup Kitchen and Crimson Dawn.

Reach the Soup Kitchen. Follow the intel marker to the Soup Kitchen in Crimson Dawn territory. Good standing with Crimson Dawn can make entry simpler. If the guarded entrance blocks you, guides describe an alternate vent entrance close by. Use Nix on the vent’s switch to open it.

Cross the restricted section. From the Soup Kitchen and landing-pad area, use the platforms or go around toward the raised restricted platform. Watch the patrols. Have Nix hold the fan lever or switch, then move through while the fan is stopped. The window is short, so get close to the fan before you issue Nix’s command.

Inspect the stash. Continue along the passage and climb down the ladder into the vault or restricted room. Inspect the crate or box at the back of the room to confirm the counterfeit credits.

Report to a faction. After the discovery, choose whether to warn Crimson Dawn or tell the Pykes. Leave the area and speak to the contact linked to your choice to close the Intel chain.

Choosing whom to inform
The decision comes down to which faction’s reputation you want to improve. Both options raise that faction’s standing, and none of the walkthroughs quantify the gain, so there is no reliable way to compare the two by number. Avoid treating either option as the clear winner. If something goes wrong
- Hen does not give you the lead: Check that you actually completed a sale to him. Simply talking to him or walking nearby does not start the chain.
- The Soup Kitchen entrance is blocked: Use the vent entrance nearby and bring Nix to operate its switch. Crimson Dawn standing can also simplify the main entrance.
- The fan starts again before you pass: Move closer to the fan before issuing Nix’s hold command. The timing window is short, so retry if you are caught mid-approach.
- Patrols spot you on the platforms: Wait for the route to clear and approach the raised platform from a different path where one is available.
