Xbox announced that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy would join Game Pass on August 8, 2024, followed by Mafia: Definitive Edition on August 13. Both were listed for Cloud, Console, and PC. Those were their announced arrival dates—not confirmation that either game is still available in your Game Pass catalog today.
When did Crash Bandicoot and Mafia come to Game Pass?
In an Xbox Wire announcement published August 6, 2024, Xbox Game Pass Senior Community Lead Megan Spurr listed the two games and their scheduled dates:
| Game | Announced Game Pass date | Platforms listed |
|---|---|---|
| Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy | August 8, 2024 | Cloud, Console, PC |
| Mafia: Definitive Edition | August 13, 2024 | Cloud, Console, PC |
The dates and platform listings come from Xbox Wire’s August 6, 2024 announcement. They describe that month’s additions, not a guarantee of present-day access.
What is included in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy?
The collection remasters three platform games: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. The Xbox UK store listing also identifies the bonus levels Stormy Ascent and Future Tense. Those details are from a UK regional product page, so check the store for your region for applicable product information.

Spurr’s announcement introduced the then-upcoming addition with the line, “Your favorite marsupial, Crash Bandicoot, is coming to Game Pass!” The statement referred to the August 2024 arrival. Xbox UK Store: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
What is Mafia: Definitive Edition?
Xbox described Mafia: Definitive Edition as a cinematic third-person shooter centered on Tommy Angelo, a cab driver pulled into organized crime in 1930s America. It is a crime story rather than a platforming collection, so the two August additions offered very different kinds of games.

Are the games still on Game Pass?
Availability can depend on region, subscription plan, and access method, and the August 2024 announcement does not establish current catalog status. At retrieval, the US Xbox Cloud Gaming page displayed Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy with a “Play with Game Pass” label; that is evidence for that page, not a guarantee for every country or plan. Check the live Xbox catalog for your account before relying on subscription access. The current status of Mafia: Definitive Edition is not established here, so confirm it in your regional catalog as well.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do you need to buy either game separately?
No separate purchase is needed when a game is available to you through your Game Pass plan. If you prefer to own a copy, look for the specific game and confirm its platform, format, and seller listing before purchasing; a subscription listing does not establish which retail editions are currently offered.
