Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on Nintendo Switch bundles three different platformers, so the best tip depends on which one you are playing: the original Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back or Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. Expect adjusted jumping and collision behavior, and don’t assume classic cheat codes work in the Switch collection unless they have been verified for this edition.

What are the best Crash Bandicoot Switch tips for beginners?

First, check which game you launched. The trilogy shares a visual style, but its entries have different progression systems and objectives. Activision describes the collection as the first three games in the series and lists Nintendo Switch among its platforms: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

  • Choose a starting point that suits you. Vicarious Visions recommended Crash 2 or Warped as reasonable places for newcomers to begin, then returning to the first game with more practice. That is a recommendation, not a required order.
  • Learn the remake’s jump feel. The trilogy uses adjusted handling and collision, so a landing that feels familiar from an older release may behave differently here.
  • Take a deliberate approach to difficult gaps. Build a run-up when space allows, commit to a full jump when needed, and adjust based on where Crash lands rather than relying on muscle memory from the original games.
  • Separate progression from cheats. Collectibles, bonus rounds, bonus paths, time trials and checkpoints are game features, not proof that a classic cheat code works on Switch.

Vicarious Visions said it used Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped handling as the trilogy’s starting point, then tuned the games individually. In the first game, Crash falls faster after you release the jump button than he did in the original. The developers described reducing frustration while preserving the originals’ challenge as their goal; that is their stated design aim, not a guarantee that every jump will feel easier. Read their explanation in “Go Ahead and Jump!”.

How do I make jumps and land more reliably in N. Sane Trilogy?

Treat each jump as a small timing problem rather than a test of whether the remake exactly matches your memory. The developers have said the collection has a different collision system and adjusted physics. In particular, releasing the jump button in Crash 1 leads to a faster fall than in the original, which can change how much time you have to correct your position.

Activision NG Crash Bandicoot Trilogy - Switch
  • Note The packaging comes in French language but the language can be changed to French or English on the main menu
  • Use a run-up where the level permits it. Approaching a gap deliberately can help you commit to the jump instead of making a last-moment correction.
  • Hold the jump when a full arc is needed. In Crash 1, releasing early makes Crash fall faster in this version.
  • Watch the landing point. If you repeatedly fall short or overshoot, change your takeoff timing; don’t assume the original game’s collision and landing feel transfer exactly.
  • Practice in the specific entry you are playing. The trilogy’s handling was tuned by game, so a timing that works in one is not a universal rule for all three.

What do the gems, keys, crystals and relics do?

They belong to different games and should not be treated as one shared collectible system. Activision’s digital manual contents identify these objective categories, but the available contents alone do not establish every precise unlock requirement. Check the relevant level’s in-game guidance or manual for its specific conditions.

Game Objectives and systems identified in the manual
Crash Bandicoot Gems, keys and bonus rounds
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back Crystals and bonus paths
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped Crystals, gems, relics, time trials and playable Coco

A gem, key, crystal or relic is a progression or completion objective, not a cheat input. The official franchise page also highlights the extra levels Stormy Ascent and Future Tense; confirm which content is included in your regional retail edition before assuming a particular copy contains every highlighted level: Crash Bandicoot official site.

Do cheat codes work in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on Switch?

Classic cheat codes are not confirmed here for the Nintendo Switch trilogy. Activision’s support page links to the digital manual, whose indexed contents focus on controls, collectibles, bonus rounds, paths, time trials and playable Coco; it does not provide a verified Switch cheat-code list. That does not prove no code exists, but it is not enough to recommend codes from the original releases or other platforms as if they were confirmed for this edition.

To avoid wasting time, use a code only when it has been tested for the exact game, platform and version you are playing. Otherwise, treat bonus paths, unlockable content and difficulty assistance as ordinary game systems—not cheats. Activision’s support information and manual links are on its N. Sane Trilogy FAQ.

What can I do when I’m stuck in Crash 1?

The trilogy’s first game has updated saves and checkpoints, along with dynamic difficulty adjustment. Vicarious Visions says repeated failures can lead to additional Aku Aku masks and checkpoints. The article does not give a numeric failure threshold, so there is no fixed number of attempts to wait for. This assistance is part of Crash 1’s design, not a cheat code.

Can I play the Switch trilogy offline?

Activision’s FAQ says the game can be played offline, while leaderboards and downloading updates or patches require an internet connection. The FAQ is dated June 21, 2018 and discusses the game generally, so it should not be read as a fresh confirmation of every Switch-specific support detail. If a save will not load, Activision recommends checking that the game is updated; see its FAQ for support information.
