Use the official Create Ultimate Selection 2 – Create Aeronautics server pack that matches your client release, run it on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1, and require every player to install that same release. CurseForge’s files index currently lists release 12.6.0, uploaded October 12, 2026, with a corresponding server-pack file. The steps below cover a clean dedicated-server setup, version control, world planning for airships and factories, backups, hosting decisions, and the limits of what is currently known about performance.

What Create Ultimate Selection 2 – Create Aeronautics is

Create Ultimate Selection 2 – Create Aeronautics is a curated Minecraft modpack from TheWizard. It targets Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge and builds its progression around Create automation, Create add-ons, technology, exploration, quests, and multiplayer play.

The Aeronautics focus extends Create’s mechanical systems into the air. The pack is designed around large airships, flying machines, aerial transport, and functional factories that can operate above the ground. Quests are intended to introduce Create mechanics, automation, add-ons, and more advanced technology in stages, so a shared server can give a group a progression path instead of dropping everyone into an unstructured collection of mods.

You can play alone or with friends, but a dedicated server needs stricter version discipline than a single-player instance. The loader, Minecraft version, client pack, server pack, and world should be treated as one release set.

Compatibility snapshot

Component Verified detail What the operator should do
Minecraft 1.21.1 Install the server for 1.21.1 only; do not substitute another Minecraft minor version.
Mod loader NeoForge Use the NeoForge build required by the selected pack release and keep it identical on server and clients.
Current listed pack release 12.6.0, uploaded October 12, 2026 Download the 12.6.0 client files and its matching server-pack artifact when starting a new installation.
Server artifact A matching server-pack entry appears alongside the client release in the CurseForge files index. Use that server pack instead of trying to reconstruct a server by copying a random client profile.
Distribution paths CurseForge is the primary distribution path identified for the project. Modrinth carries a listing and points readers to the publisher’s CurseForge profile for the server pack. Check the publisher’s file notes and version history before every upgrade.
Independent performance data No independent benchmark, latency study, uptime figure, TPS result, or formal RAM requirement is established here. Measure your own server under real player and contraption loads rather than relying on a universal hardware claim.

Release 12.6.0 is the current listing as of October 15, 2026, but modpack files can change after that date. If you install later, select the newest release that has a matching server pack and then pin that exact release for everyone who connects.

Plan the server before downloading anything

Choose a fixed release

Write down the pack version, Minecraft version, and NeoForge version you intend to run. Keep that record with your server files. A client that silently updates while the server remains on an older release is one of the most common causes of rejected connections and missing-content errors.

Decide where the world will run

A home computer can work for a small private group if its network connection and power settings are reliable. A managed game host can simplify installation, automated restarts, backups, and remote access. In either case, confirm that the environment supports a heavily modded NeoForge server and allows you to import the supplied server pack.

Reserve storage for backups

Create Ultimate Selection 2 encourages machines, moving contraptions, factories, and exploration. World data can grow as players generate terrain and build infrastructure. Keep backup storage separate from the live world directory when possible, and decide how many dated restore points you will retain before players begin.

Set expectations with players

  • Everyone must use Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge, and the same pack release.
  • Players should report crashes with the time, activity, and latest log rather than repeatedly restarting the server.
  • Large flying machines and chunk-loaded factories should be introduced gradually, especially while you are learning how the server behaves.
  • World changes, pack upgrades, and configuration edits should be announced before they happen.

Download the correct client and server files

  1. Open the official Create Ultimate Selection 2 – Create Aeronautics project listing on CurseForge.
  2. Open the files index and select the release you intend to run. For a new installation based on the current listing, that is release 12.6.0, dated October 12, 2026.
  3. Download the server-pack file associated with that release. Do not assume that a similarly named file from another release is compatible.
  4. Have each player install the client profile for the same release through the launcher or pack-management workflow they use.
  5. Record the downloaded filenames and release number in your server notes. This makes later troubleshooting much faster.

Modrinth also lists versioned releases, but the publisher’s distribution guidance points operators back to the CurseForge profile for the server pack. If the two listings appear out of sync, use the release whose server-pack artifact and file notes clearly match your chosen client version.

Install the NeoForge server

1. Prepare a clean directory

Create a new, dedicated directory for this world. Avoid placing it inside an existing vanilla or differently modded server folder. A clean directory prevents old mods, configuration files, and world data from being mistaken for part of the new installation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. Install the loader required by the pack

Use the NeoForge installer and the loader version specified by the selected pack release. Run the installer’s server-install option in the empty server directory, then let it create the loader files, libraries, launch scripts, and configuration structure. Because the exact NeoForge build is tied to the pack release, copy the version from the release notes rather than guessing from a generic NeoForge download page.

3. Import the official server pack

Extract the supplied server-pack archive into the same directory, following any folder layout or installation notes included with that file. If the archive contains a launch script, use it as the starting point; if it contains a script template, edit only the memory and path settings you understand. Do not mix in mods from another Create pack to “fill gaps.”

4. Accept the Minecraft EULA

Start the server once. It should generate an EULA file and initial configuration files before stopping. Open the EULA file, read the terms, and change the acceptance setting only if you agree to them. Start the server again and watch the console for a completed startup message.

5. Stop cleanly and review the generated files

Stop the process from the server console rather than closing the terminal window. Confirm that the world directory, configuration directory, logs, and launch script are present. A clean stop ensures that the first generated files are flushed before you begin configuration or backups.

Configure the first world safely

Start with a test instance

Before inviting players, launch a temporary world and connect with one client. Verify that the pack reaches the title screen, the server accepts a connection, Create machines can be placed, and quest data appears. This short smoke test catches a mismatched loader or incomplete server-pack extraction without risking your long-term world.

Set the world seed and generation policy

Choose a seed and world-generation settings before the first permanent launch. Aeronautics builds benefit from open areas for runways, launch platforms, airship docks, and large factories, while exploration content still rewards varied terrain. Do not change generation-related settings after players have explored unless you understand how new chunks will be affected.

Protect spawn and the first logistics area

Reserve a practical starting zone with room for storage, a Create workshop, and a safe place to learn the quest progression. Mark an expansion corridor for rail lines, roads, or aerial routes. Early planning reduces the temptation to dismantle a working factory when a larger machine or airship needs clearance.

Make a baseline backup

Stop the server after the test and copy the complete world and configuration directories to a dated backup location. Label it with the pack release and date. This is your recovery point before players generate terrain or install optional configuration changes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Make clients and server agree

Every connecting player should install the same Minecraft 1.21.1 pack release and NeoForge loader family as the server. “Almost the same” is not enough: a single changed mod, library, configuration, or loader build can produce a missing-mod, registry, or protocol error.

  • Compare the pack version shown in the client launcher with the server’s release record.
  • Verify that the client is launching Minecraft 1.21.1, not a neighboring 1.21.x version.
  • Verify that the client uses NeoForge rather than Fabric, Forge, or a manually assembled loader profile.
  • Remove duplicate profile directories if the launcher is selecting an older installation by mistake.
  • After a server upgrade, have every player update before attempting to connect.

Keep a text file with the exact release and loader values and share it with the group. This simple reference prevents support messages that omit the one detail needed to diagnose a mismatch.

Designing a world for Create Aeronautics

Separate ground and air infrastructure

Use the ground for power generation, bulk storage, processing lines, and stable workshops. Reserve elevated platforms, runways, and docking areas for airships and flying machines. Separating the two layers leaves room for expansion and makes it easier to shut down an aerial contraption without interrupting essential production.

Build in modules

Give each factory a clear input, processing area, output buffer, and maintenance access. Modular designs are easier to move, duplicate, and restore from a backup than one enormous machine that depends on every neighboring chunk. Label belts, funnels, trains, and storage so a new player can understand the system before changing it.

Plan routes before launching vehicles

Map where aerial traffic may cross rail lines, farms, and player housing. Establish a naming convention for docks and destinations, and keep a written route diagram in your community notes. A planned network reduces collisions, accidental unloading, and the need to rebuild a factory when a flight path becomes busy.

Use quests as a shared progression tool

Decide whether the group will advance together or let players pursue separate quest branches. Agree on how rare components and progression gates will be handled. A shared policy avoids arguments when one player rushes advanced technology while others are still learning basic Create automation.

Performance and resource planning without guesswork

The pack contains a substantial mod set and is built around moving contraptions, automation, exploration, and aerial machinery. Those systems can create very different workloads depending on world age, player count, loaded chunks, and machine design. No independent test establishes a universal RAM allocation, CPU requirement, tick rate, or player capacity for this pack, so treat any fixed number found elsewhere as provider-specific unless it documents its method.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Instead, monitor the server while players perform the activities you expect to support:

  • Join with the intended number of players and generate new terrain.
  • Run a representative Create factory with belts, processing, and storage.
  • Operate an airship or flying machine in the same area as the factory.
  • Watch the server console and host metrics for sustained CPU, memory, and tick-time pressure.
  • Repeat the test after adding chunk-loaded automation or long-distance transport.

If ticks slow down, identify the machine or area responsible before simply increasing memory. Reduce unnecessary always-on contraptions, avoid loading multiple remote factories without a reason, and divide large production lines into stages that can be paused. Keep a before-and-after note for each change so you know which adjustment helped.

Backups, updates, and rollback

Back up before every risky change

Stop the server cleanly before copying the world. Take a dated backup before installing a new pack release, changing loader files, editing major configuration settings, or allowing a player to test an unfamiliar automation system. Keep at least one backup away from the machine that hosts the live server.

Upgrade as a controlled migration

  1. Read the new release notes and confirm that a matching server-pack file exists.
  2. Tell players the maintenance window and freeze construction in the live world.
  3. Make a complete backup of the current world, configuration, and launch files.
  4. Install the new release in a separate directory or clone of the server rather than overwriting the only working copy.
  5. Start the upgraded copy and test login, quests, machines, storage, and aerial contraptions.
  6. Have one or two players connect with the updated client profile before opening the server to everyone.
  7. Keep the old directory untouched until the new world has run reliably for several sessions.

Roll back deliberately

If an update causes crashes or broken machines, stop the server, preserve the logs, and restore the pre-upgrade copy. Do not keep launching the damaged world while experimenting; repeated starts can make a rollback harder. Record the failed release and symptom so players do not reinstall it accidentally.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choosing a hosting arrangement

Compare hosting plans by capability rather than by a single advertised player number. For this pack, the useful questions are:

Decision point Questions to ask the host
Installation Can you import the official server pack, or are you limited to a fixed modpack catalog? Is installation one-click or manual?
Compatibility Can the service run Minecraft 1.21.1 with the required NeoForge build?
Resources Are CPU allocation, memory limits, and storage ceilings clearly stated? Can they be changed without rebuilding the world?
Backups Are scheduled backups available, where are they stored, and can you download or restore a specific dated copy?
Location Is there a data-center region close to your players, and can you move regions later?
Mod support Can you upload configuration files, inspect logs, restart safely, and run custom launch arguments?
Pricing What is included at renewal, and are extra storage, backups, or memory billed separately?

The project description says TheWizard personally uses BisectHosting to test and host Create Ultimate Selection 2, citing stable performance and one-click modpack installation, and advertises code THEWIZARD for 25% off. That is the publisher’s promotional statement, not an independent benchmark. Verify that the code, discount, disclosure requirements, and affiliate terms are still current before relying on it or publishing a monetized link.

Troubleshooting common failures

“Incompatible mod set” or a rejected connection

Confirm all three version layers first: Minecraft 1.21.1, the same NeoForge build, and the same Create Ultimate Selection 2 release. Reinstall the client profile from the selected release instead of copying individual jars. On the server, verify that the matching server-pack archive was extracted into the intended directory.

The server stops during startup

Read the first error and the lines immediately before it in the latest log. Check for an incomplete extraction, an incorrect loader build, a Java runtime that does not satisfy the loader’s requirement, or a mod file left over from another pack. Restore the clean installation rather than deleting random files from a working release.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Players time out while flying or exploring

Check whether the timeout occurs during new-chunk generation, near a large factory, or when several contraptions are active. Test the same route with machines paused. If the problem is localized, reduce simultaneous automation and inspect the host’s CPU and network metrics before changing world files.

Quests or progression appear missing

Confirm that the client and server both came from the same release and that the server-pack extraction preserved its configuration files. Test with a new temporary world. If quests work there but not in the established world, restore the latest known-good backup before editing progression data.

A world will not load after an update

Stop testing on the only copy. Preserve the logs, restore the pre-update backup, and run the old release from its original directory. Investigate the new release on a duplicate world until you know whether the issue is a changed mod, configuration, or world-generation component.

Operator checklist

  • Record Minecraft 1.21.1, the NeoForge build, and the exact pack release.
  • Download the official matching server pack and client profile.
  • Install NeoForge in a clean directory and accept the EULA only after reading it.
  • Run a temporary smoke test before creating the permanent world.
  • Make a dated baseline backup before inviting players.
  • Publish the required client version to every player.
  • Reserve space for ground factories, aerial docks, and future routes.
  • Monitor real workloads; do not promise a player count or RAM figure that has not been measured.
  • Back up before updates, configuration edits, and experimental contraptions.
  • Keep the previous release available until the upgraded server is proven stable.

What to expect from the current release

For a new server started from the current files index, release 12.6.0 is the clear reference point: Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge, and a matching server pack are listed together. The pack’s distinctive value is the combination of Create-based automation and an aerial engineering theme, not a lightweight vanilla-plus experience. Plan for deliberate version management, ample backup discipline, and performance checks that reflect your own factories and airships.
