Use the CurseForge server pack for Create World of Gears – Create Aeronautics, not the client download. The latest release currently listed on the project page is 0.4.2 for Minecraft 1.21.1. Budget at least 10 GB of RAM, use a strong single-thread CPU, run the Java version required by your 1.21.1 installation (Java 21 is the general guidance), and make the client and server use the identical NeoForge and modpack versions. The exact NeoForge build is not established in the available listings, so verify it on the selected CurseForge file before starting.

What Create World of Gears is
Create World of Gears – Create Aeronautics is a ManiacVII modpack distributed through CurseForge. It is built around the Create technology system and adds an aeronautics-focused progression in a Minecraft 1.21.1 environment. Public hosting listings identify builds as “HP – Create World of Gears – Create 6.0.10,” so at least some releases bundle Create version 6.0.10. Treat that Create version as build-specific rather than assuming every release contains it.

A multiplayer installation has two different downloads:
- Client pack: installed in each player’s launcher profile.
- Server pack: the archive intended for a dedicated NeoForge server.
They are not interchangeable. A client archive can contain launcher metadata, optional client-only files, and a layout that does not start a dedicated server. For a hosted or self-managed server, always select the file whose name identifies it as a server pack.
#1 Best Overall
Which release and server pack to install
Recommended starting point: release 0.4.2
The main CurseForge project page lists 0.4.2 as the newest release and names its server archive HP-CWoG-1.21.1-S-0.4.2-ServerPack. That is the sensible choice for a new world because it is the newest version currently listed by the project itself. Confirm the file entry, Minecraft version, loader, and included server archive immediately before downloading; modpack files can change after a guide is written.
Older packs and why their sizes differ
| Release or listing | Minecraft | Server-pack detail | How to use the information |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.4.2 | 1.21.1 | Server pack named HP-CWoG-1.21.1-S-0.4.2-ServerPack |
Newest release listed on the CurseForge project page; preferred for a new installation. |
| 0.3.2 | 1.21.1 | About 398 MB; listing identifies Create 6.0.10 | Use only when your players or an existing world must remain on 0.3.2. |
| 0.2.6 | Not separately restated in the listing summary | About 365.8 MB | Legacy option; do not mix its files with a newer world. |
| 0.4.0 | Not confirmed | A search summary reports a September 17, 2026 release, but the underlying page was not confirmed | Do not select it solely from a search result. Check the actual CurseForge Files entry. |
Modpack Index describes its own listing as out of date, so it should not override the version shown in CurseForge’s project and Files pages. If the launcher displays a different “latest” number, compare the release date and server-pack filename on CurseForge rather than combining files from different releases.

Create machines, trains, chunk data, and modded blocks can change between releases. Before changing from 0.3.2 or 0.2.6 to 0.4.2, make a complete world backup, preserve the old server directory, and have every player update their client. If the world is valuable, test the new pack against a copy first. A server that starts successfully can still have missing recipes, changed block IDs, or broken contraptions after a modpack upgrade.
Hardware and software requirements
Memory planning
Use 10 GB of RAM as the practical minimum planning figure. Game Host Bros lists at least 10 GB and says its configuration allocates 7.8 GB to Java at startup. CreeperHost lists a 5,000 MB minimum, while ModReady’s general Create guidance gives 6–8 GB for “All of Create” packs and 10 GB or more for communities with 15-plus players. Those figures are not equivalent: the 5,000 MB value is best treated as a bare floor, whereas a 10 GB allocation leaves room for Create contraptions, world generation, players, and the operating system.
| Use case | Starting Java heap | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Small private test with few players | 8 GB may start, but 10 GB is safer | Below 10 GB is a riskier experiment, not the recommended baseline. |
| Normal small community | 10 GB | Matches the strongest minimum guidance in the available listings. |
| 15 or more players or large factories | 10 GB or more, then measure | Increase only when monitoring shows memory pressure; more RAM cannot repair a weak CPU. |
Do not assign every physical gigabyte to Java. Leave memory for the operating system, file cache, panel, backups, and other services. On a machine with 16 GB total, a 10 GB heap can be reasonable; on a 12 GB machine running a control panel and backups, it may not be.
CPU matters for Create simulation
Create contraptions repeatedly evaluate moving parts, inventories, trains, schedules, and redstone-like interactions. ModReady emphasizes CPU performance over simply adding RAM, and CreeperHost lists a minimum of two 4.5 GHz CPU threads while warning that Create bases need a strong processor. Clock speed alone is not a complete benchmark, but these figures explain why a modern high-performance single-thread core is preferable to many slow shared cores. Avoid placing a busy Create server on an oversubscribed budget node if tick-time problems appear even while memory remains available.
Storage
CreeperHost lists 15 GB of minimum SSD space. That is enough to hold a server pack and a small world, but it leaves little room for generated terrain, player backups, logs, crash reports, and multiple release copies. Allocate more than the stated minimum in practice, use SSD storage, and reserve space for at least one known-good backup plus the previous server version.
Java and the mod loader
ModReady’s general guidance for Minecraft 1.21.x is Java 21. Use a 64-bit Java 21 runtime unless the selected file’s instructions explicitly specify another runtime. Confirm the runtime with:
Rank #3
- The classic UNO card game builds fun on game night with a Minecraft theme.
- UNO Minecraft features a deck and storage tin decorated with graphics from the popular video game.
- Players match colors and numbers to the card on top of the discard pile as in the classic game.
- The Creeper card unique to this deck forces other players to draw 3 cards.
- Makes a great gift for kid, teen, adult and family game nights with 2 to 10 players ages 7 years and older, especially Minecraft and video game fans.
java -version
The server and every client must run the same Minecraft version, the same mod loader, and the same NeoForge version. Apex Hosting’s NeoForge guidance specifically calls for matching the loader and Minecraft version and using the same NeoForge version on both sides. The exact NeoForge build for Create World of Gears was not confirmed in the available page summaries, so read the dependency or manifest information on the chosen CurseForge file instead of guessing.
Prepare the server before installation
Choose a clean directory
Create a dedicated directory such as create-world-of-gears-0.4.2. Do not extract the new pack over an older release. A clean directory makes it possible to roll back, compare configuration files, and identify which files belong to the selected version.
Check the prerequisites
- 64-bit operating system and a current Java 21 installation, unless the selected file says otherwise.
- At least 10 GB available for the Java heap, plus operating-system overhead.
- Fast local or hosted SSD storage with room beyond the 15 GB minimum listing.
- Firewall access for the server port you intend to publish.
- The exact 1.21.1, NeoForge, and modpack versions shown by the selected server-pack file.
- A backup location outside the live server directory.
Download the correct archive
- Open the Create World of Gears project on CurseForge and go to its Files area.
- Select the release you intend to run; for a new server, start by checking 0.4.2.
- Confirm that the file is for Minecraft 1.21.1 and is labeled as a server pack.
- Download the archive named for the server, such as
HP-CWoG-1.21.1-S-0.4.2-ServerPack. - Do not substitute the similarly numbered client profile or client ZIP.
- Record the release number and archive name in your deployment notes so every player can install the matching client.
Extract and perform the first server start
Windows
- Extract the server-pack archive into the clean directory with a tool that preserves nested folders.
- Open PowerShell in that directory and check Java with
java -version. - Run the pack’s supplied launcher or installer if one is included. If it supplies a server JAR, start it with a command in this form:
java -Xms10G -Xmx10G -jar SERVER_JAR_NAME.jar nogui. - Read the console output. The first run commonly creates configuration files and stops while waiting for the EULA.
- Open the generated
eula.txt, review Mojang’s terms, and change onlyeula=falsetoeula=trueif you agree. - Start the same command again and wait for the console to report that the server is ready before connecting.
Linux
- Extract the archive into the server directory and make the supplied shell launcher executable if necessary.
- Verify Java 21 with
java -version. - Start the supplied launcher, or use
java -Xms10G -Xmx10G -jar SERVER_JAR_NAME.jar noguiwith the actual JAR filename supplied by the pack. - Stop the first run cleanly, inspect
eula.txt, and seteula=trueonly after accepting the EULA. - Start it again inside a service manager or persistent terminal session so the process survives a disconnected SSH session.
Never copy a JAR name from an unrelated NeoForge tutorial. Server-pack launchers can use a generated filename, and the archive may include scripts that set required arguments.
Configure the world for Create and aeronautics
Set view and simulation distance conservatively
ModReady suggests view-distance=10 and simulation-distance=6 as starting values for trains and simulation. Put those values in server.properties, restart the server, and then observe tick time while players use busy areas. View distance controls how far chunks are sent to clients; simulation distance controls how far entities and block activity continue to tick. Raising both increases CPU and memory work, so do not use distance settings to hide a performance problem.
Rank #4
- Now Minecraft lovers can play a special version of UNO!
- Same as Basic UNO but features Minecraft characters and includes special Creeper rule card. Draw this card and the other players have to draw three more cards from the pile!
- The goal is to get rid of all the cards in your hand.
- First player or team to 500 wins.
- When you're down to one card, don't forget to yell "UNO"!
Keep configuration changes documented
- Change one setting at a time and record the old and new value.
- Stop the server before editing configuration files.
- Keep a copy of the original files from the selected release.
- After an update, compare regenerated configs instead of blindly copying every old value.
Plan world generation and player access
Generate a safe spawn area before inviting a full group, then test travel, chunk loading, and the pack’s aeronautics content with two or three players. Pre-generating an enormous region can consume substantial storage and time, so start with the area your group will actually use. Whitelist players if the server is private, and make backups before opening the address publicly.
Make the client match the server
- Each player installs the same Create World of Gears release as the server, using the client profile rather than the server archive.
- Set Minecraft to 1.21.1.
- Use the exact NeoForge version shown by the server pack’s file information.
- Let the launcher install the pack’s listed mods and dependencies; do not add “helpful” extra mods until the base pack connects correctly.
- Start the client once in single-player to allow configuration and resource files to be created.
- Connect using the server address only after the dedicated server reports ready.
A mismatch can present as a missing-mod error, a network registry error, an immediate disconnect, or a crash while joining. Compare release number, Minecraft version, NeoForge build, and mod list in that order.
Performance tuning and monitoring
Measure before allocating more RAM
Watch Java memory usage, garbage-collection pauses, CPU utilization, and server tick time while players build. If the heap repeatedly reaches its limit and the operating system is healthy, increase the allocation in measured steps. If tick time is poor while heap usage is moderate, reduce simulation load, inspect large contraptions, and move to a faster CPU rather than simply adding memory.
Common Create-specific sources of load
- Large moving contraptions operating continuously.
- Many inventories, funnels, belts, and item transfers in one chunk.
- Train networks crossing constantly loaded areas.
- Several players exploring new terrain at once.
- High view-distance and simulation-distance values combined with an active spawn.
Ask players to shut down machines that do not need to run, distribute factories across sensible areas, and avoid loading an entire industrial base permanently when no one is using it. These are operational practices, not replacements for adequate hardware.

Troubleshooting by symptom
The server exits immediately
- Run
java -version; a 32-bit or incompatible runtime can fail before the pack loads. - Confirm that the command points to the JAR supplied in this server archive, not a different NeoForge installation.
- Read the first error in the console or latest log, not only the final “process exited” line.
- Check that the EULA was accepted and that the process can write to its directory.
- Restore a clean extraction if files were copied over another release.
Players receive a version or missing-mod error
Compare the client and server’s Minecraft 1.21.1 setting, modpack release, NeoForge build, and mod list. The same version number in a launcher is not sufficient if one side uses a different loader build. Reinstalling the client profile from the selected release is often faster than manually replacing individual JARs.
The server lags when machines run
- Check CPU saturation and tick time while reproducing the problem.
- Temporarily lower
simulation-distancefrom the starting value of 6 and test again. - Stop the largest active contraption to identify whether one build is responsible.
- Reduce simultaneous exploration and chunk generation.
- Only increase RAM after confirming that memory exhaustion, rather than CPU time, is the bottleneck.
The world will not load after an update
Stop the server, restore the pre-upgrade backup, and run the old server directory to verify the backup. Do not delete region files or remove mods from the upgraded world while troubleshooting. Compare the release’s changelog and configuration requirements, then test the upgrade on a copy before attempting it again.
The server runs out of disk space
Check world growth, logs, crash reports, and retained backups. Keep at least one recent backup off the live disk, but prune obsolete archives according to a schedule. The 15 GB listing is a minimum reference, not a guarantee that a long-running world will remain below that size.
Backup, updates, and safe administration
Use a repeatable backup routine
- Announce a maintenance window to players.
- Stop the server cleanly so region and player data are flushed.
- Copy the entire world directory, configuration files, and the server’s release notes to storage outside the live directory.
- Label the backup with the pack release and date.
- Periodically test restoring a copy; an untested backup is not proof of recoverability.
Upgrade only after a compatibility check
For each new release, verify its Minecraft version, NeoForge requirement, server-pack filename, and dependency changes. Keep the old server directory intact until the new world has been tested. Require players to update their client profile at the same time; a mixed-version community will generate connection failures even when the server itself is healthy.
Quick deployment checklist
- Selected a real CurseForge server pack, not a client pack.
- Confirmed the intended release; 0.4.2 is the newest release currently listed.
- Confirmed Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Verified the exact NeoForge version from the selected file.
- Installed 64-bit Java 21 unless the file specifies another runtime.
- Reserved at least 10 GB for Java and additional operating-system memory.
- Used a strong CPU and SSD storage with room beyond 15 GB.
- Accepted the EULA and completed a clean first start.
- Set view-distance to 10 and simulation-distance to 6 as initial values.
- Backed up the world before inviting players or changing versions.
- Installed the matching client release for every player.
What to verify when the project page changes
The available listings do not establish a pack-specific NeoForge version, a formally published Java requirement, or a single official hardware benchmark. They also show conflicting secondary references for release 0.4.0. Therefore, treat the CurseForge project and selected file as the authority for the current release, loader, and server archive. Treat the 10 GB memory figure and strong-CPU recommendation as conservative planning guidance informed by host listings and general Create experience, not as a guaranteed capacity for a particular player count.
