Patch 1.01.00, published March 28, 2026, is the update that added five summonable mounts, reduced Flight stamina consumption, and shortened loading when traveling via Abyss Traces and when respawning after death. The official notes do not quantify the stamina saving or the loading improvement, and they do not explain how to unlock the new mounts. Two later patches changed related systems: Patch 1.02.00 added movement-control schemes that affect mount stamina, and Patch 1.03.00 widened when Abyss Nexus teleportation can be used.

The five new mounts
Patch 1.01.00 added the following mounts. Each can be obtained and summoned after completing certain conditions, but the official notes do not specify those conditions:
- White Bear
- Silver Fang
- Snowwhite Deer
- Rock Tusk Warthog
- Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex
The patch announcement describes the addition in these words: “This patch adds 5 summonable mounts, decreased loading times for fast travel and revival, and some more changes to controls as part of our ongoing efforts to improve the game’s controls.” That sentence is the publisher’s own description, attributed here to the Crimson Desert team’s official Patch 1.01.00 notes (March 28, 2026). Until the game or official channels publish unlock requirements, any guide that lists specific steps for these mounts is going beyond the notes.

Flight stamina: the “glide” change
The notes use the term Flight, and that is the name to use in-game. Many players search for the same mechanic as “gliding,” which is a useful alternative phrase but not the official term. The Patch 1.01.00 entry reads: “Reduced Flight’s stamina consumption.”
No amount is given. The notes do not say how much stamina Flight now uses, how much less it uses than before, or how long a flight lasts. Any percentage or duration figure you see elsewhere is not from these notes.
Faster loading: Abyss Traces and respawning
The second quality-of-life change covers two specific actions. The official wording is: “Loading times have been reduced when traveling via Abyss Traces and when respawning after death.”
- Abyss Trace travel: loading is shorter when you travel this way.
- Respawning after death: loading is shorter when you return after dying.
Pearl Abyss did not publish before-and-after timings, so the size of the improvement on any platform is unknown from the notes alone. Loading for other actions is not described as changed in Patch 1.01.00.

Movement controls and mount stamina (Patch 1.02.00)
Patch 1.01.00 mentioned “movement-control improvements,” and Patch 1.02.00 turned that into two selectable schemes. The notes call them Basic and Classic, and they differ in how you accelerate and how mount stamina is spent.
Rank #2
- PS5 Features include raytracing modes and immersive haptic feedback for DualSense
- Use darkness and cover to avoid being overwhelmed by the ship's deadly new inhabitants
- Seek out the weapon fabricators to increase your firepower as you journey deeper, into the dark and terrifying depths, but beware ammo is limited
- Gather materials & schematics for weapon upgrades and suit customizations with buffs
- Harvest DNA material to improve health, toughness and defensive capabilities.Survive an ever changing labyrinth. Each and every expedition into The Persistence will be disorienting and different.Death is just the beginning. Fatal encounters will result in Zimri's consciousness being uploaded into a new cloned body, ready to try again, with any upgraded stats, suits & weapon schematics kept to aid the next attempt to save the ship
| Scheme | How you accelerate | When mount stamina is consumed |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Hold sprint | At set intervals while sprinting |
| Classic | Repeatedly press sprint | With each sprint-key press |
The notes present these as alternatives for player preference and do not rank one scheme as better. If mount stamina feels different from what you expect, check which scheme is selected in the game’s control settings before assuming a bug.
Abyss Nexus: what changed, and what did not
Two different updates touched Abyss Nexus teleportation, and neither one is the loading change from Patch 1.01.00.
- Patch 1.02.00 improved the conditions for using Abyss Nexus while moving slightly. At that time, the exceptions included being mounted and using Flight.
- Patch 1.03.00 expanded use to the mounted, falling, swimming, and wall-climbing states. Mounted use, which 1.02.00 had excluded, is therefore covered by the later patch.
Keep the categories apart when comparing patches. Faster loading means the same action takes less time to load. Expanded eligibility means you can use teleportation in more situations.

- Confirm the patch version. Check the version number in your platform’s update history or storefront listing. The mount and Flight changes require Patch 1.01.00 or later.
- Check your platform. The official notices list the storefronts covered; Patch 1.02.00 does not list platforms in the notice reviewed.
- Check the movement scheme. Mount stamina behavior depends on Basic or Classic, so compare your results against the scheme you have selected.
- Do not expect a stated fix for mount unlocks. The notes give no unlock conditions, so a missing mount is not covered by the patch text. Watch the official Crimson Desert updates for any later clarification.
Sources and date limits
This article is based on the official Crimson Desert patch notices for 1.01.00, 1.02.00, and 1.03.00, with publication dates and times as listed in those notices. These notices describe what the publisher said each update changed. They do not measure performance, and no independent benchmarks of stamina or loading were used. The article reflects the notices as published and is not a check of the live version on any platform as of October 8, 2026. Later patches may have changed these systems, so consult the official updates page before relying on any detail here.
Quotations are attributed to the Crimson Desert team’s official patch notes; the notices do not name an individual author.
