crlfom.dll is a Corel graphics-program component, not a Windows system DLL. When it is missing, damaged, quarantined, or mismatched, repair or reinstall the affected Corel product from its original installer rather than downloading a replacement DLL.
What this file actually does
The reported description of CRLFOM.dll is Fill and Outline Manager Library. It is published by Corel Corporation and is associated with CorelDRAW and other Corel graphics applications. Some older records describe it as part of the Corel Common Framework, but that label should not be treated as a universal name for every current Corel release.
A legitimate copy normally remains inside the Corel installation directory. A current CorelDRAW installation may use a path similar to:
C:Program FilesCorelCorelDRAW Graphics Suite25Programs64CrlFOM.dll
Older products may instead use a Programs directory. A 64-bit CorelDRAW installation commonly uses Programs64, while older or 32-bit products may use Programs. The folder name and release number depend on the installed product.

Older Corel versions also used names such as:
crlfom100.dll
crlfom110.dll
Those version-suffixed files are not interchangeable with the unsuffixed crlfom.dll. Do not use a file from another Corel release simply because the name appears similar.
Corel does not publish one universal public version, size, checksum, or dependency list for this internal library. The correct file is the one installed by the matching Corel product and build.
Diagnose the symptom before repairing it
The full error path usually identifies the affected application. Read the message carefully and note the product name, folder, and release number.
| Symptom | What it usually indicates | First action |
|---|---|---|
crlfom.dll could not be found |
The file is absent from the expected Corel folder or the installation path is damaged | Run Corel repair |
Cannot find ...Programs64CRLFOM.dll |
Corel is looking in its normal application directory, but the file is missing | Confirm the path, then repair or reinstall Corel |
Failed to load CRLFOM.dll |
The file may be damaged, incompatible, or blocked by a missing dependency | Repair Corel and check Visual C++ |
| “The application has failed to start because CRLFOM.dll was not found” | Windows cannot load the Corel component during startup | Repair the exact Corel installation |
| “Missing or corrupt” or “Bad Image” | The file or one of its dependencies may be invalid | Do not replace it manually; repair the application and dependencies |
CorelDRW.exe - Entry point not found |
A mismatched Corel component or corrupted runtime may be present | Match the Corel update and repair Visual C++ if required |
| Corel crashes while opening or saving | The DLL may exist but be incompatible with the build, or settings, documents, dependencies, or storage may be involved | Check Event Viewer after repairing the installation |
The exact missing-file wording varies. A generic Windows “Bad Image” message is not proof that crlfom.dll itself is the cause. If the file exists and the program crashes, treat the issue as a broader application or dependency failure.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFix 1: Repair CorelDRAW or the affected Corel product
Repair is the safest first step because it restores the files expected by the installed build without mixing components from other releases.
- Close CorelDRAW and all other Corel applications.
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type:
text
appwiz.cpl
- Press Enter.
- In Programs and Features, select the installed CorelDRAW Graphics Suite or Corel product.
- Choose Change, Modify, or Uninstall, depending on how that installer is presented.
- Select Repair if the option appears.
- Follow the installer prompts.
- Restart Windows.
- Launch CorelDRAW and repeat the action that previously produced the error.
If Corel starts normally and the original operation works, the repair succeeded. Check the original Corel folder if you need to confirm that the file was restored. Do not judge success only by whether a file with the right name exists; the matching version and dependencies also matter.
If there is no Repair option, or repair ends with an error, continue with a clean reinstall.
Fix 2: Reinstall the exact Corel product from its official installer
A reinstall is the definitive fix when the Corel file was deleted, the installation was interrupted, an update failed, or the installed files belong to different releases.
Before removing the program, record the product name and edition from Help → About if Corel still opens. Also make sure you have the account details, license information, or installation media required to reinstall the same product.
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter:
text
appwiz.cpl
- Press Enter.
- Remove the affected CorelDRAW suite or Corel application.
- Remove related Corel packages only when they clearly belong to that installation and the Corel installer identifies them as part of the suite.
- Restart Windows.
- Download the same product and release from Corel’s official account or official download page. Do not use a DLL archive as the source.
- Run the installer. If Windows asks for permission, select Yes.
- Restart Windows again after installation.
- Install only updates that match the installed Corel release.
- Open CorelDRAW and test it with a normal document.
Corel’s clean-reinstallation procedure may also require removing documented leftover folders after uninstalling. Follow the product-specific instructions rather than deleting every folder containing the word “Corel.” Removing unrelated data can damage another Corel application or remove custom content.

If the installer itself fails, save the exact installer message. A damaged download, insufficient disk space, security software interference, or a Windows installer problem may need attention before the DLL issue can be resolved.
Fix 3: Check the installed build and matching updates
A stale update can leave an older crlfom.dll beside newer Corel binaries. The reverse can happen when a patch is applied to the wrong base release.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To check the build:
- Open CorelDRAW if possible.
- Select Help.
- Select About.
- Record the complete product name and version.
- Compare that information with the update or patch you are attempting to install.
- Install updates only from Corel and only when they explicitly support that release.
- Restart Windows and test again.
If Corel will not start, use the product name shown in the error path, the installed-program entry in Programs and Features, or the original purchase and installation records.
Do not copy a crlfom.dll from another computer unless it came from an identical Corel product, release, architecture, and update level. Even then, repair or reinstalling from the original installer is more reliable.
Fix 4: Repair Visual C++ dependencies when the file exists
Visual C++ repair can help when crlfom.dll is present but Windows reports a load failure, entry-point error, or bad image. It does not recreate a missing Corel DLL.
On 64-bit Windows, both x64 and x86 application runtimes may be required because applications use the architecture for which they were built.
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps.
- Search for Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
- Find the x64 package and select its menu button.
- Choose Modify, then Repair, if available.
- Repeat for the x86 package.
- Restart Windows.
- Launch CorelDRAW again.
If the packages are absent or repair is unavailable, obtain the supported Visual C++ Redistributable packages from Microsoft. Install the architecture required by the Corel build, and install both x64 and x86 on 64-bit Windows when Corel’s troubleshooting procedure calls for both.
Multiple Visual C++ releases can legitimately coexist. Do not remove every redistributable as a first step. If you are following a controlled Corel clean-reinstallation procedure, use the versions and sequence specified for that product.
If repairing Visual C++ changes nothing and the file is absent, return to the Corel repair or reinstall. A runtime package is not a substitute for crlfom.dll.
Fix 5: Check Windows Security quarantine
Security software can remove or quarantine an application file after an update or scan.

- Review recent actions involving Corel or
CrlFOM.dll. - Check the file path shown in the detection.
If the item was quarantined, do not restore an unknown copy merely because its filename matches. The safer response is to reinstall the file from the authentic Corel installer. Restore a quarantined item only when you have verified that it came from a trusted, genuine Corel installation and the detection is a false positive according to your security policy.
After reinstalling, update Windows Security and run another scan. If the file repeatedly disappears, investigate malware, a faulty security rule, or storage corruption rather than repeatedly copying it back.
Fix 6: Install Windows updates, then repair Windows components
Windows component corruption is less likely when only a Corel DLL is missing. System File Checker repairs protected Windows files, not ordinary files installed by Corel. Use these commands when Windows itself is behaving abnormally, other system files are failing, or Corel’s installer reports Windows component errors.
First install pending Windows updates and restart:
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Restart Windows.
Then open an elevated Command Prompt:
- Open Start.
- Type
cmd. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Select Yes at the User Account Control prompt.
- Run:
bat
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

- Wait until verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
DISM may report that the restore operation completed successfully. SFC may report that it found and repaired corrupt files, or that no integrity violations were found. Test Corel after restarting.
Repeatedly running SFC and DISM without recording what changed makes diagnosis difficult. If these commands report errors, save the exact result and continue with Corel’s installer repair rather than expecting them to supply crlfom.dll.
When manually checking Windows component health becomes time-consuming, Outbyte PC Repair can scan for system issues and show what it identifies; repairs are performed by the full version, but it is not required and reinstalling Corel remains the definitive fix for a missing Corel DLL.
Fix 7: Reset damaged Corel settings
A corrupted workspace or user profile can cause CorelDRAW to crash even when crlfom.dll is present and valid. Resetting settings removes custom workspaces, shortcuts, palettes, and other user changes, so back up anything important first.
- Close CorelDRAW.
- Hold the F8 key.
- While holding it, launch CorelDRAW.
- Confirm that you want to reset the application to factory defaults.
- Release F8 after the reset prompt appears.
- Test Corel with a new document.
If the crash stops, restore custom settings gradually rather than copying the entire old profile back at once. If the missing-file message remains, reset settings was not the primary repair and you should reinstall the application.
Fix 8: Check for a driver-related crash only when evidence points there
A graphics-driver reinstall is not a primary fix for a missing crlfom.dll. Consider drivers when the file exists, Corel opens, and Event Viewer identifies a display driver or GPU fault.
To check the driver:
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the graphics adapter.
- Select Properties.
- Review the General and Driver tabs.
- Check Event Viewer under Windows Logs → System for display-driver errors.
- Obtain the correct driver from the graphics hardware manufacturer.
- Install it and restart Windows.
Do not install a driver merely because Corel mentions a graphics-related crash. Confirm that the driver is involved first.
When identifying an outdated driver manually means hunting through hardware models and comparing versions, Outbyte Driver Updater can scan and show driver issues; installation is handled by the full version, but a driver update will not replace a missing crlfom.dll.

What not to do
Do not download the DLL from a random website
Unverified DLL sites can provide malware, the wrong architecture, a modified file, or a build from an unrelated Corel release. Even a clean file may not fix the underlying installation mismatch.

Use the original Corel installer, Corel’s official account or download page, and matching Corel updates instead.
Do not copy it to System32 or SysWOW64
crlfom.dll is a Corel application library. Copying it to:
C:WindowsSystem32
C:WindowsSysWOW64
does not make it a Windows component and can create further confusion. Restore it to the Corel installation folder only through repair or reinstall.
Do not use regsvr32 as a routine repair
regsvr32 is intended for self-registering DLLs, such as certain OLE or ActiveX components. A normal Corel application library is loaded by Corel and does not need Windows registration.
If you run a command such as:
regsvr32 crlfom.dll
and Windows reports that DllRegisterServer is missing, that is evidence that registration is not the solution. Do not keep trying different copies or command prompts.
Do not enable random Windows Features
Turning on .NET Framework or unrelated Windows Features does not restore a missing Corel library. Install a Windows feature only when the Corel installer or a specific error clearly identifies it as a required dependency.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Advanced checks when reinstalling did not help
If Corel still fails after a clean reinstall:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter:
text
eventvwr.msc
- Press Enter.
- Open Windows Logs → Application.
- Look for an error at the time of the crash.
- Record the faulting application, faulting module, exception code, and full path.
- Check whether the faulting module is
CrlFOM.dll.
If the file is present and Event Viewer names it as the faulting module, the problem may be a Corel software defect, incompatible document or workspace, dependency mismatch, or memory or storage corruption. It is no longer a simple missing-file problem.

- The file exists in the expected Corel directory.
- Its path is a temporary, download, or system folder instead.
- The issue began immediately after an update.
- The same document causes the crash every time.
- Other applications are losing or corrupting files.
- Windows Security repeatedly quarantines the file.
If files are repeatedly damaged or disappear unexpectedly, run a full security scan and investigate disk health. Do not whitelist an unknown copy simply because its filename is correct.
System Restore is a fallback when a restore point predates the failure and normal repair is unavailable. Press Windows key + R, enter rstrui.exe, and follow the wizard. Use it cautiously because it rolls back other system and application changes.

FAQ
Is crlfom.dll a Windows DLL?
No. It is associated with Corel software and is not a standard Windows system component.
Should I download crlfom.dll separately?
No. Restore it through the matching Corel repair or installation process. A separate download may be unsafe or incompatible.
Can I copy it from another PC?
Only an identical Corel product, release, architecture, and update level could potentially supply a compatible file. The supported approach is still repair or reinstall from Corel.
Will reinstalling Visual C++ fix it?
Only when the file exists but cannot load because a required runtime is missing or mismatched. Visual C++ will not recreate a missing Corel DLL.
Should I register crlfom.dll with regsvr32?
No. It is normally loaded by Corel rather than registered as a Windows component.
Why does my error mention Programs64?
That is a normal location for files in many 64-bit CorelDRAW installations. Older or 32-bit products may use a Programs directory instead.
What if Corel crashes but does not say the file is missing?
Check Event Viewer, reset Corel settings, verify dependencies, and confirm that the installed Corel build and updates match. A crash with the file present is not proof that the DLL should be replaced.
Is a graphics-driver reinstall the answer?
Not for a straightforward missing-file error. Use Device Manager and Event Viewer to confirm a driver fault before changing graphics drivers.
Can System File Checker restore this file?
Normally no. SFC repairs protected Windows files, while crlfom.dll belongs to the Corel application. Use SFC and DISM only when there is evidence of broader Windows corruption.
