Yes. In June 2022, Crytek warned that it could detect players using a LeMat revolver exploit and take action against them. Contemporary reporting said the glitch was fixed later that month. Crytek’s current rules still prohibit exploiting bugs for an advantage, but they do not specify a LeMat-specific penalty or establish that the 2022 glitch remains active.
What the LeMat glitch did
HotHardware reported on June 21, 2022, that the LeMat Mark II exploit made the shotgun barrel’s pellets behave like full metal jacket pistol rounds. According to that contemporaneous account, the change affected the shotgun’s usual spread and speed behavior, letting it perform beyond its normal close-range constraints. This describes the reported 2022 bug, not the weapon’s current behavior. HotHardware’s report

What Crytek said about enforcement
HotHardware quoted a June 20 Crytek social post saying the team knew about the issue, was working on a fix, and expected a hotfix in the coming days. The outlet also reported that Crytek Social Media Manager Bence Hamos said in an accompanying video that the exploit was detectable and that action could be taken against players or teams using it. The report did not establish a universal penalty length for the LeMat glitch. HotHardware’s account of the warning
Was the LeMat exploit fixed?
HotHardware updated its story on June 23, 2022, reporting that Crytek took PC servers offline on June 22 and console servers on June 23 to address the bug. This is a dated report of the fix; it does not establish whether the same exploit exists in any later version. HotHardware’s June 23 update

What Crytek’s current rules say
Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown 1896 Community Charter states: “Exploits: Do not abuse bugs or glitches to gain a gameplay advantage.” The charter says violations may lead to temporary suspension of account and game access or a permanent ban. It does not publish a specific penalty schedule for the LeMat incident.
In an October 7, 2024 anti-cheat update, Crytek urged players to report exploits rather than use them for competitive advantage, and said it may take retroactive action after learning of an exploit. The update describes reporting through the in-game report menus or Customer Support. Crytek’s anti-cheat update

That same update said Crytek banned 269 players for abusing a separate trait-purchase exploit in live games. Those bans were not for the LeMat glitch. The figure is Crytek’s October 2024 report, not a current total or evidence of how many people faced action over the LeMat incident. Crytek’s October 2024 update

What to do if you encounter an exploit
- Do not use it to gain a gameplay advantage; Crytek’s current charter prohibits that conduct.
- Report it through the in-game report menu or Customer Support, as described in Crytek’s anti-cheat guidance.
- If Crytek sanctions your account and you believe the decision is wrong, use the formal appeal route through Customer Support. In its April 14, 2026 Fair Play Task Force update, Crytek said appeals receive a manual investigation; that process is a review, not a promise that a sanction will be overturned.
