When did Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 come out?
Update 2.3 launched on July 17, 2025. In its July 16 patch notes, CD PROJEKT RED said the update would arrive the following day on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The notes said the Nintendo Switch 2 version would follow later. The studio’s corporate announcement listed July 17 for Switch 2 and Mac as well, and its current Update 2.3 page includes PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac. These statements describe the rollout information given in different announcements; they should not be read as evidence that every platform had the same announced timing.

Why was Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 delayed?
GamesRadar+ reported that the update had originally been planned for June 26 before moving to July 17. The outlet attributed the change to CD PROJEKT RED saying the team needed more time to be happy with the update. The precise claim that the announcement came “three days before launch” is not independently confirmed by the primary announcement available here, so it is safer to treat that timing as headline phrasing rather than a verified studio statement. Four new vehicles and more ways to get around
CD PROJEKT RED’s patch notes list four vehicles: the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru, Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred,” Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa and Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila. Several have associated Side Jobs.

AutoDrive can take an owned vehicle to a selected job objective or map pin. Without a destination, it offers an unguided ride around Night City. A cinematic camera option is available during AutoDrive. Players can also summon a Delamain cab after completing “Don’t Lose Your Mind” and receiving Delamain’s message.
Rayfield’s CrystalCoat paint customization now works on additional partner-brand vehicles and motorcycles. A cracked version extends paint customization to many lower-end rides, though some vehicles remain unsupported.

Expanded Photo Mode
Photo Mode adds 27 spawnable NPCs, alternate NPC outfits and V’s saved Wardrobe outfits. New tools include more lighting controls, stickers and frames, plus Color Balance and Time and Weather tabs. Players can choose weather and time of day, advance the frame and let game time continue while Photo Mode is open.

Gameplay, quests and platform-specific features
The patch adds an aim-down-sights toggle, a replayable gameplay tutorial and an option to ask Johnny to leave the passenger seat. It also includes multiple quest and gameplay fixes.

Some technical features depend on platform and hardware. On PC, CD PROJEKT RED lists AMD FSR 4 support for compatible AMD GPUs, FSR Frame Generation 3.1, Intel XeSS 2.0 and HDR10+ Gaming on supported equipment. The patch notes said FSR 4 would require a supporting AMD driver that was expected to arrive later. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S receive VRR support.

Yes. CD PROJEKT RED says Update 2.3 is free for owners of Cyberpunk 2077’s base game. The studio says neither the Phantom Liberty expansion nor Ultimate Edition is required, and players can continue an existing save rather than starting over. The corporate announcement says the update was developed in collaboration with Virtuos; that attribution is the studio’s statement.
